In this suggestion, I am suggesting the Great Eastern Mainline from London Liverpool Street to Norwich + Southend Victoria and Braintree branches. This dlc will be set in 2017-2020 when Greater Anglia still utilised the full fleet of class 360s, 321s and Class 90 hauled Mark 3 sets, and when the Elizabeth Line then known as TfL Rail operated class 315s on the "Shenfield Metro" Stations on the main part include: London Liverpool Street Bethnal Green (ai/scenery) Stratford Maryland Forest Gate Manor Park Ilford Seven Kings Goodmayes Chadwell Heath Romford Gidea Park Harold Wood Brentwood Shenfield Ingatestone Chelmsford Hatfield Peverel Witham Kelvedon Marks Tey Colchester Manningtree Ipswich Needham Market Stowmarket Diss Norwich Southend branch: Billericay Wickford Rayleigh Hockley Rochford Southend Airport Prittlewell Southend Victoria Southminster branch: Battlesbridge South Woodham Ferrers North Farmbridge Althorne Burnham-on-Crouch Southminster Braintree branch: White Notley Cressing Braintree Freeport Braintree Rolling stock: Class 321 Class 360 Class 315 (TfL Rail) Class 90 + Mark 3 & DVT Potential Loco Dlc Class 345 (7 car variant) It would work as a substitute to the TfL Rail class 315 due to the dlc being set when both types were common. Layers Intermodal freight will be layered if you have Great Western Express installed using the class 66 on services from Stratford to Ipswich. RHTT services will also layer for autumn season. A railtour service will be available (July and August only) as a return service from Stratford to Norwich and back calling at Chelmsford, Colchester, Ipswich and Norwich which requires the Mark 1 coaches from Spirit of Steam and the class 47 from West Somerset Railway with other vacuum braked British Rail era locos as a substitute except for the class 20. The railtour consists of eight Mk1 coaches sandwiched between two locomotives due to Norwich being a dead end. AI includes London Underground 1972 stock on the Central Line in place of the 1992 stock with AI only freight on the Gospel Oak - Barking Line.
London Norwich is 112 mi 180 km shorter by 3 mi 5 km than SFS Hannover Wurzburg Kassel Wurzburg section which is 115 mi 185 km. In terms of a freight locomotive Class 86 Freightliner Green fits the route with FKAs from GWML. Also, make the Class 90 Freightliner Green work alongside the Class 86 locomotive and an excellent idea overall. Tutorial for the route takes place on the route and Training Centre
While it'd get lengthy I think the folesktown branch (after Ipswich I belive) would fit nicely for more freight gameplay
depends who you ask - Some people adore freight others despise it - I actually enjoy freight a lot if it isn't overdone and isn't the main focus of a route - freight is fun as a side note for passenger routes for immersion and for a slice of cake for all.
