Just thought I would start a thread where we can share tips that are not directly related to the TSW editor but can be helpful for making art in general. 1.) When doing any kind of color-tweaking, make sure your monitor is set to the default color settings. Otherwise you might find yourself unknowingly compensating for things that aren't part of the game (like making things more blue because of a low-blue-light mode) and it will look off when displayed elsewhere. 2.) Review your work in a separate session. At least for me, working on something for a while makes me lost in all the small details. Taking a break or just loading the project to look at things helps with getting a more general opinion and maybe finding these few tweaks that are actually needed. 3.) When in doubt, see how it's done elsewhere. Nothing's stopping you from booting up a AAA game or other piece of media to see how a particular element was made to look good from the general perspective. Chances are you will find a technique that works just fine because it was already picked by someone much more experienced.
