If in the future, we are to get another (boring) "modern" UP route, it would be nice if UP's roster was a bit mixed up to include most of their schemes that currently exist out and about on their system. (Note: I'm not counting the patch units) 1. Pre-Wing and Lightning stripe (AC4400CW, AC4460CW, SD70M) The oldest "standard" paint still running around on UP's system, this is basic UP Yellow and Grey, with side lettering and the shield emblem on the nose. 2. Lighting Stripe and Wing's (AC4400CW, AC4460CW, SD70M) Starting around the 2000's UP made a slight modification to their paint scheme, at this point UP adopted the new Lighting Stripe designed, and added the "Wings" emblem to the nose. The sides still have the standard UP lettering. 3. Flagless "Building America" schemes (SD70ACe, ES44AC) Not sure when these started to come out from UP, but a handful of SD70ACe's and ES44's that were sent thru UP's paint shop came out with a modified version of the "Building America" scheme, which saw the large US flag on the side dropped in favor of returning to the standard UP lettering seen back in the 2000's 4. Union Pacific's newest paint scheme (All new repaints & locos from 2022 onward) Probably the worst looking of the bunch, but as of today, UP announce that this was their newest scheme going forward. The large flag on the long hood was moved to the nose, and the former "Winged" logo was returned to the shield only, though made larger than the scheme in the 90's.
I'll admit, seeing the latest livery on the last image does indeed look terrible (I do hope DTG does not do this livery for future UP routes). But, still a good idea to bring in more alt. liveries for UP, would be nice to see some arrangements with the logos and lettering on each models.
