I'm looking at purchasing a rake of DBAG IC Carriages and I notice that these are available from ROCO and also PIKO https://www.gaugemasterretail.com/piko-58543-expert-dbag-1st-class-ic-eurofima-coach-vi.html https://www.gaugemasterretail.com/roco-6200020-dbag-ic2310-coach-set-vi.html Am I correct that EUROFIMA and IC2310 are different types of services? and the carriages EUROFIMA and IC2310 would not be seen in the same train ?
There seems to be some confusion here. Neither EUROFIMA nor IC2310 are a type of service of the DB. EUROFIMA is a financing group involved in passenger coaches for use across Europe. You’ll notice that many European railroads use coaches just like the German ones you’re looking at. IC2310 is the number of an IC service between Frankfurt (Main) - Sylt. From that front, there’s no issue running these together since they’re the very same coaches for IC services. The only problem might be that the Piko and Roco coaches will likely have different destinations listed on the PIS boards, if you look closely. Also, when mixing coaches of different manufacturers, sometimes the colours might be slightly off between them, but personally I’ve only had positive experiences with mixing Piko and Roco before - exact colour matching.
Thank you for clearing that up, I recently got really interested in German railways and I know what I like the looks of, but I want to be authentic in the trains that I run.
No problem I’m from Germany but have a strong interest in USA model railroading, so I know what it’s like to wrap your head around a foreign (model) railroading system.
