The core route of this network would be the 47km route from Braunschweig climbing up the scenic rural areas of the Nordharz to Bad Harzburg. At Vienenburg there are two branches, the 13 km branch to Goslar and the 23 km long branch to Wernigerode. At last there will be also the 7 km connection between Goslar and Bad Harzburg, the so called "Harzhexenbahn". All in all, this network will contain almost 90 km of track with 12 stations.

Setting this route before 2015, there would be following services:
Braunschweig-Bad Harzburg and Braunschweig-Goslar, both lines will have a service every second hour, So, between Vienenburg and Braunschweig you´ll get an hourly service. The train for those two lines would be the DB BR 628.

There will also the RE4 between Goslar-Vienenburg-Wernigerode, served with the DB BR 612, the german "Pendolino".

There is also a Regionalbahn, that will go from Goslar via Bad Harzburg to Wernigerode. The services will be done with DB BR 218 with n-Wagen

Finally, between Goslar and Bad Harzburg there was also the RB to Kreiensen/Göttingen, with the DB BR 648.

There are also some freight mostly steel trains between Salzgitter and Ilsenburg.
