Actually, I really like the idea of an german retro-route, providing 'pre-ICE' InterCity and InterRegio train services with iconic locos like the 103, 120, E10/110, E40/140, maybe 218. y The route itself is somewhat equal to me, could be for example Stuttgart - Ulm via Geislinger Steige, Fulda-Würzburg via Fulda-Main-Bahn (touching already existing Main-Spessart-Bahn at Gemünden). As there are already some retro lines for Britain, I think, there would enough fans to ride on it. And finally, as the waggons for the ICs are based on Eurofima and UIC-standards, they could be the basic models for the rolling stock for routes in many central european states like Switzerland, Belgium, Austria, Italy or France
