Why do German passenger routes have a class 767.2 at one end and a br 143 at the other end wouldn't it be better with two 767.2s so the train has the same driving cab at both ends same kind of thing on class 45 on NTP no rear driving cab
The 767.2 is simply a carriage with driving controls. Those controls are in control of the BR143 when being driven from the 767.2. There is no engine in the 767.2, so while you could put one at each end you would not get very far. With the BR Class 45 on NTP it is set a time when loco's typically "ran round" the coaching stock when changing direction (there are a number of movements on the WSR DLC that would mimic this). Modern British loco hauled passenger stock is no generally either top and tailed (loco at each end) or has a DVT (Driving Van Trailer) similar in idea to the 767.2. Very little is run now where a loco has to run round its stock other than heritage railways such as the west Somerset.
That's not how that works The 767 is a cab car & cab car's are only powered by the train in the back So if there are 2 767's & no 143 (or 146) it wouldn't move Basically it's a passenger coach with controls & no engines, it rely's on a powered locomotive at the end. Same thing goes for the 766
The 143 provides the power for the whole train. The dosto at the other end just controls the 143 from there
This post made me laugh unmaliciously, the image in my head of a double headed dosto cab car which could not move was hilarious!
