Depends what you're interested in. While many German routes have plenty of freight services, I do recommend Ruhr Sieg-Nord - its shunting services alone with the DB BR 363 are legendary and really engaging. While the route is rather outdated, it still remains a classic with its unique charm and gritty atmosphere.
