This idea is a Y-shaped line from Essen Hbf to Dorsten, where the train split; the front part to Borken and the rear part to Coesfeld. The line is operated by the Transdev RheinRuhrBahn and driven by the Talent 1 DMU. The total length of the route is 88,7 km (55,1 miles).

    It has the next stations:
    - Essen Hbf
    - Essen West*
    - Essen-Borbeck Süd
    - Essen-Borbeck
    - Essen-Gerschede
    - Essen-Dellwig Ost

    - Bottrop Hbf
    - Bottrop-Boy
    - Gladbeck West
    - Gladbeck-Zweckel
    - Feldhausen
    - Dorsten

The front part goes further to...
    - Hervest-Dorsten**
    - Deuten**
    - Rhade
    - Marbeck-Heiden
    - Borken (Westf)

The rear part goes from Dorsten further to...
    - Hervest-Dorsten
    - Wulfen (Westf)
    - Lembeck
    - Klein Reken
    - Reken
    - Marvia Veen
    - Coesfeld(Westf)

**Hervest-Dorsten (Borken part) and Deuten are stops on request.
*Station Essen West is only operated by the RE14 trains starting or ending in Dorsten and the S9.
The stations in green are for the S9 (Wuppertal Hbf - Recklinhausen Hbf). They can be driven by the BR422 between Essen Hbf and Gladbeck West.

Short north of Feldhausen the line passed Movie Park Germany, which can give you a nice thing to see along the route.

The driving times from Essen Hbf are...
    - 30 minutes to Dorsten, not stopping in Essen West
    - 34 minutes to Dorsten, if stopping in Essen West
    - 55 minutes to Borken (Westf)
    - 75 minutes to Coesfeld (Westf)
It has a 60-minute frequency north of Dorsten and a 30-minute frequency south of it. Between Essen Hbf and Gladbeck West the S9 can also ass a 30-minute frequency. The timetable is in this link.

A benefit of this route is that the part from Essen Hbf to Essen-Frohnhausen is already built in the Hauptstrecke Rhein-Ruhr. It can save 3,9 km (2,4 miles) of busy tracks to build.

The line is double track south of Dorsten and single track north of it. Between Essen Hbf and Gladbeck West the line is electrified, for the rest it isn't. The whole line had PZB as safety system.

The route asks for a familiar train type: The Talent 1 DMU. It isn't built already, but with the Talent 2 for DB and Talent 1 EMU for the ÖBB, it can be made easy compared with other trains. It can also be easier to learn how to drive. In a few years a CAF Civity hydrogen train takes over the line.

I also found a video with old announcements, but the gong is the same as the current one. A condition should be that for TSW an English part should be added after the German voice. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a cab ride video.

It is a typical busy commuter line. That most of the services of the RE14 trains have to split or couple makes it more fun. The single track demands punctual trains.

A repaint of the Talent 1 could make AI services between Bottrop-Feldhausen and Dorsten, as around Coesfeld possible. Around Essen, it is easy with the ICE 1, ICE 3, IC 1 with BR 101, BR 422, BR 425 and freight trains.
