My first suggestion, so I hope I get this across as something players could imagine to like. First, some short reading: Brunswick–Uelzen railway - Wikipedia As for era, I would suggest modern era but prior to 2008, as up to that point services were run by DB Regio with the iconic BR 628 and 614 rolling stock, the backbone of German regional railways from the 70s onwards and basically the equivalent of UK Sprinters. The route has a length of 54 miles from Braunschweig to Uelzen and crosses what is known as the Heide (Heath), an era of natural beauty with wide open lands, forests and just a few hills. It's a slow Diesel route which still uses old fashioned semaphore signalling, with large scale modernisation being stopped in the early 2000s because a regional tram train project between Brunswick and Gifhorn was cancelled. Finally, to get an impression, here is a Cap ride on Youtube (only available in Majestic 240p but with good soundscape): Führerstandsmitfahrt Braunschweig - Gifhorn - Bad Bodenteich (- Uelzen) - YouTube
