Okay, after reading a thread that said Matt gave up building an updated OSD as there’s a mod for it….. now I believe that OSD should be updated for all platforms and not just left to a Mod for 1/3 of the community, I believe that everyone should have an updated OSD, DTG you have incorporated Mods into the game before with the skies, and why can’t you do it again as you’re missing 2/3s of the community off and that’s not good practise
I would support this, though with the caveat Matt has been doing this in his spare time. With the greatest of respect to creator of the unofficial mod, as discussed in the other thread this is something that should be amalgamated into the source route itself, peer tested then distributed on all platforms as an update.
Totally agree. This mod says to me that either DTG need to do a better job because Matt admitting that DTG have done a LOVE job and he's not bothering with his update is alienating ⅔ of the TSW user base. If the PC players can do a better job than DTG can then DTG need to figure out how to integrate mods into console versions
Well, no. Matt said that instead he's working on something else, that includes benefits for console players as well. It's not like Matt took anything away from anyone.
Personally I believe Oakville is one of the worst routes in the game and the inclusion of passenger services (especially in Caltrain livery) will not change that. The only redeeming quality is the ethanol loading but the route is too short and boring to warrant significant Dev time spent on it imo.
There’s a couple of people that swear by OSD but I don’t see it either… maybe I need to revisit it and retry some of the switching services to give it another shot. Would love to know if anyone who likes OSD has any service recommendations tbh
One of the reasons might have to do with licensing which dtg don't have. A caltrain mp36 running in canada would be unliked. Even with a livery from creators club, it's not going to be applied to all locos and coaches.
If they want to rework the route they might just ask province of Ontario government for Go Transit and extended onto the American side basically making this route Toronto to Niagara Falls. However you have to play the international section like a inner German service between Bebra Gerstungen the commonly discussed Helmstedt Marienborn
I wish TSW mods could be ported over to consoles. Some games have actually done this such as Skyrim, Farming Simulator and Fallout 4. Maybe it’s more complicated to do with this game I’m not too sure.
I’m not a fan of this route or any other freight only routes for that matter, so this doesn’t have an impact on me like it would for others. The only thing I regret not seeing on OSD is the added passenger services that we were promised, missed opportunity there. It would’ve brought some more life to a ghost town of a route.
Regardless of whether it gets a remaster or not, I would like to see the long-coming passenger timetable
