Introduction: Introducing the gateway to the Highlands, the Glasgow Queen street-dundee route for train sim world, making use of most of the scotrail stock to create a busy and realistic route out of Glasgow. The route: Running for approximately 83 miles, we start in Glasgow Queen street, following the E&G until just after croy. Where we split off towards stirling, then to Perth and Dundee. The short branch towards alloa would also be included. Stations: Glasgow queen street Platforms: 9 (2 low level) Bishopbriggs Platforms: 2 (Lim) Lenzie Platforms: 2 (Lim) Croy Platforms: 2 Larbert Platforms: 2 (Lim) Stirling Platforms: 9 (2 not in use) Alloa Platforms: 1 (Branch) Bridge of Allan Platforms: 2 Dunblane Platforms: 3 Gleneagles Platforms: 2 Perth Platforms: 7 Invergowrie Platforms: 2 Dundee Platforms: 4 Service examples: 2T22 09:59 Aberdeen to Glasgow queen street Calls at: Perth, Stirling, Glasgow Queen street. Sounds, physics and the powercar could be given a new livery and reused from GWE, although the mk3 coaches have been modified into sliding doors, and would probably need to be remade. They operate most of the long distance services on the route in 2+4 and 2+5 formations, for example Inverness and Aberdeen to Glasgow. Only rarely making appearances on services terminating at Dundee and Perth Top speed: 125mph (Scotrail sets limited to 100) Layers: E&G, Fife circle. Layers: Class 170 "Turbostar" The class 170 would be reused from fife circle to operate services alongside the HST, as well as Dundee and Perth terminating services. Class 158 "Express sprinter" The class 158 would run the same services as the 170. Class 385 The class 385 would operate local services between Glasgow and Alloa, as well as Edinburgh to Dunblane, and Glasgow to edinburgh (although the latter 2 would only have part of the journey simulated) Class 380 The class 380 could be added in as a substitute to the 385, although they rarely run in real life, it would give players something different to run on these services rather than just the 385. Class 66 The class 66 would operate freight along the route Potential DLC: Class 68 The class 68s operate most freight on the route, appearing more often than 66s. Usually running nuclear flask and tankers, this would bring another highly requested freight loco to the game, which would operate on a lot of the modern routes. Top speed: 100mph Layers: Most modern british routes. Overall: This is a pretty long route, consisting mostly of express, diesel services. This would give the trains included plenty of space to stretch their legs, as well as bringing the inter7city HST to the game, which would add a lot more variety to the other Scottish routes, although the length is quite long, since the HST is already mostly modeled, there wouldn't be as much work needed on Rolling stock, allowing more time to be spent on scenery and the route itself.
Day one purchase for me! We need a long Scottish main line in TSW! And that HST... . 68 is also an excellent proposal. If the route will set before 2020, then 68 could also be present in Scotrail livery+Mk2. I think there were two 68s in that configuration. PS. I think 66 are GBrf, right? It would be a problem with licenses in that case!
Think those were only for the fife circle so they wouldn't run on this, but it could definitely appear as an addon for that as well
I'm all for this! Brilliant proposal! Suggested it myself! It's a lovely line! Very scenic! I've been on it in an HST before and it would be great to have in the game!
Awesome suggestion! We can see lot of stock on the route that we already have, and as additon Class 68 would be amazing! Overall something I would love to see in TSW!
