My first suggestion on here in a good while, finally have the motivation to do another, so i decided to remake one of my older suggestions I posted a good few years back. Let's get into it!

    Introduction:

Introducing the Glasgow south western line to train sim world. This busy route runs for just over 30 miles, connecting smaller towns with East Kilbride, Kilmarnock, and Glasgow.

    The route:

With a total running length of 31 miles (24 Glasgow-Kilmarnock, 7 miles EK branch), it fits well within train sim world's scope, and brings the class 156 into the mix.

Trains run between Glasgow and Kilmarnock at an interval of 2TPH. Some of which will continue on to Carlisle, Dumfries, Ayr, or Girvan. Usually running either express, or semi-fast to Barrhead.

East Kilbride also sees bi-hourly services from Glasgow, which are usually stopping services.

Barrhead also has an hourly shuttle utilising class 380s.

    Stations:

    Kilmarnock line:

    Glasgow Central (T)

    Crossmyloof

    Pollokshaws West

    Kennishead

    Priesthill & Darnley

    Nitshill

    Barrhead (T)

    Dunlop

    Stewarton

    Kilmaurs

    Kilmarnock (T)

    Video example (CR: Scotrail):

East Kilbride branch (starts just after pollokshaws west)

    Thornliebank

    Giffnock

    Clarkston

    Busby

    Thorntonhall

    Hairmyres

    East Kilbride (T)

    Video example (CR: Loki avivson):

    Rolling stock:

British rail class 156 "super sprinter"

The class 156 is a 2 car diesel multiple unit operating for scotrail. This would be the core train included with the route, and would operate most Driveable services.
These units are powered by 2 (one per coach) Cummins NT-855R5 engines with a total of 570 horsepower. These engines are also seen on the class 150, and 153 sprinters.

    Top speed:75MPH
    Layers: Edinburgh glasgow, Cathcart circle
(replaces most class 158 AI), Fife circle (Substitutions)

    Layers:

    Class 380
The class 380s would operate a large majority of AI services out of Glasgow central, as well as the hourly services to Barrhead (typically 4 car 380/1s)

    AI services:

Class 385 (Edinburgh via Shotts, Lanark)

    Class 390 (WCML)

    class 314 (318/320 substitutes)

Class 158 (single Edinburgh via Shotts service)

    Overall:

Easily feasable for train sim world, great AI, and the last sprinter needed in game, the Glasgow south western would bring some needed variety to Cathcart circle, as well as a new driving experience out of Glasgow central.
