Very nice, appreciate the detailed breakdown of the layers! This is looking like a really promising launch, and coupled with the reduced route price and discount I might pick it up soon.
Logically I should just pass this up, because it's another boxy electric train A to B/C offering. Seems almost like a placeholder. But the presence of so many diesel and steam layers does make it slightly interesting. It's good that DTG are seriously beginning to make use of the existing game roster. I'll wait to hear from other players ( other than the usual apologists ) before possibly getting it. A big stumbling block for me is the night lighting (or lack thereof ). Though, have to say, at these prices and a discount, what's to lose?
I seem to have the same issue, although if search the steam store for "glossop" if does seem to be available to purchase
when they are free to make another route how about having the class 195 or 331 depending on the route.
Thank you Alex, now amended on Steam. Bought it on xbox this morning and if there is any money left after the steam sale will add it to steam before the deal expires.
There seems to be no way to play the NTP layer with a Class 47 if you own BRHFT as the Class 40 replaces it ?
OK, ive worked it out, The layer information DTG Alex provided is wrong: Northern Trans-Pennine (Playable) Class 47 + Mk2 Coaches + Class 20 (combined with Class 20 Loco Add-on) It is actually a Class 40 layer which requires ownership of both NTP & Heavy Freight Pack. The Class 40 service puts a Class 47 at the rear of the consist and the service cannot be driven with a Class 47 leading. If Heavy Freight Pack is uninstalled; it removes the service completely
I have the Birmingham route installed but there’s isn’t a discount showing in my cart. Any ideas? On PS5 btw
The Class 47 is on the rear of the Class 40 and Class 20 railtours, as stated these are non playable locos. Just the 20 and the 40 are. If you have various reskins of Class 47 it produces some really erm nice combos. Although the 47 is non playable you still need the Northern Trans Pennine route (as well as the Heavy freight pack) and Tees Valley + Class 20 dlc for these two tours to show. Both routes are pretty awesome routes to be honest and are recommended to be bought. Hentis
You're right about the reskins, I did the Class 20 railtour last night, I also own most of the BR Blue DLC and was surprised to find the Class 47 had the nameplate Merlin. A nice surprise.
Did a few services on this route and.. I love it! Scenery looks good, 323 obviously amazing, all the layers included are a nice touch too! Great work DTG
Yes I am enjoying it too. Nice work DTG. Scenery could be more realistic, but not complaining, looks good. The only comment is Piccadilly Station is quite dark and I would have liked to see the concourse reproduced. Still you can’t have everything!
So the Xbox Game Pass discount has been applied but, oh wait, the “loyalty” discount has been removed at the same time so I’m paying the same as I would have anyway.
It may have been stated on a stream but what I quoted from the top of this article is incorrect as it clearly says the class 47 is playable when it isn't.
Honestly it's a really nice route. No real glitches and the 323 is surprisingly well done, especially the sounds.
Yes, I applaud them for trying to do something but all it meant to me was that I didn’t have to wait for the Gamepass discount. Not really a great deal for consoles. PS5 needs PS Plus. XBox is only really a benefit if you don’t have Gamepass. Still, while the route isn’t ever going to be my favourite, it’s great when I don’t have much time and relatively cheap, so can’t complain too much.
I am really enjoying the scenarios especially the Guard and Photo one I never replay scenarios but these are two I can return to as they feel fresh and a break from the normal scenario style.
For those who want to know how well the route runs on Gen8 consoles: Here’s my 2.5 hour stream on PS4! Tried to cover different services, rolling stock, scenarios, weather, day/night and even visited the mastery reward loco.
