Near Godley station, heading toward Manchester.
Before Godley station I got a green with an AWS alarm activation. After the station stop I then got a yellow with no AWS activation.
(Signal after that ended up being clear and I continued my run)

I'm wondering about the AWS activation ahead of the green.
Is the green just a distant signal? Kinda looks like semiphore logic but with lights instead of mechanical arms. The signals are small and only have two possible lights.

Is this the typical signal behavior for that area?

Colour light signals can be used exactly as semaphore signals are, in a block signalling arrangement. However, that wouldn’t make the sequence you describe accurate, and I have had the same sequence,

You shouldn’t get an AWS warning at the magnet for a signal which is Green. Aside from a fault, the only time it happens in real life is if the signal had just changed from another aspect when you reach the magnet - it takes a couple of seconds to re-energise the electro-magnet to give the bell indicating the signal is clear. However, the fact it’s happened to both of us suggests that isn’t the scenario, which indicates it’s a bug.

I also noticed the following signal having no AWS magnet at all. This does happen in real life on occasions, and I think the signals around Dinting with AWS only at the fixed distant - not at the signal - are correct. However, I can’t think of a reason for the signal after Godley on the Up to have no AWS. I suspect this is an error, unless someone can tell us differently.
