Right, you’ve now reached Plymouth. We’ve already got West Cornwall local. Penzance to St Austell, why St Austell I don’t know, but from St Austell to Plymouth is eight stations and 30 or so miles. This has got to be worth a DLC add on just for the Royal Albert Bridge over the Tamar, magnificent. When Brunel built the bridge we was really dissatisfied with it because he didn’t believe it would take the weight of the trains he designed it for. 171 years later it carries trains that Brunel couldn’t have envisaged. This would also be an opportune time to remaster West Cornwall local and make it what it should have been in the beginning despite Rivit Games who made it a disaster. I congratulate you on TSW6 with the Riviera line, but you have missed a big trick at Exeter. You should have extended the trains to Exmouth, which would have made it more complete. also you’ve forgotten the Tarka line to Barnstaple, which is mainly single track for most of its distance with a couple of passing places, made interesting at Eggesford, because the guard has to operate the level crossing barriers. Exeter St David’s it self does not have enough AI passengers waiting to catch trains. I know it is only a regional hub, but it is a very busy station, which dispatches trains to all parts of the UK. I know, I was a guard based there for 10 years and I’m still in contact with some of the staff there now. Do you need any information about it, well contact me.
Well wcl and riviera line are set in 2 different time periods so it wouldn't work together. And in regards to why not create this additional line or extend this line depends on budget time and resources. While it's nice to have, they can't always have everything. It's not just x amount of miles. It's x amount of everything in those miles. The more complex, dense and unstraight the line is, the much longer it will take
Agree with some of the OP and Exmouth would have been a nice addition but you have to draw the line somewhere when building a route. Barnstaple while scenic, is really just a long siding these days north of Crediton with a basic NSTR crossing loop at Eggesford. Bearing in mind the DTG ethos is to offer routes with a reasonable timetable and variety of trains, the most logical next step would be towards Taunton and Bristol giving some faster running for the Voyager and Cucumber. However as I've stated previously, now the Cucumbers are in game, DTG really need to look to a route which allows them to run at full speed 125 MPH under 25kv electric power.
Routes from different eras are going to be more and more a thing unless people don't want to connect what's already in the game. If either of the routes were extended it would be WCL because it's much shorter with less detail. That means there's more room to expand it without a hit to performance for console users. Not sure what the "selling point" would be for the 30 mile middle gap as it's own route beyond "it connects two lines." Even then, you're connecting to... WCL which many on the forum would rather pretend doesn't exist because it's from Rivet. But, if it's something you want, throw it in the Suggestions part of the forum with a bunch of detail on exactly what it would entail, why DTG should make it, and why players should buy it.
Services for the 800 series exist IRL on WCML, but the problem is I believe they have no stops at Milton Keynes, so would realistically be limited to AI.
