Good Intentions But Needs A Lot Of Improvement

  1. I can see you have good intentions but the game requires a lot of improvements.

I don't know what state the game was in when beta testing was in progress but clearly they have not reported any of the problems to dtg or dtg just didn't pay any attention to them. I noticed several in the first 10 mins of gameplay.

    Sorry to be blunt.

Sehs. Very nice I like both extensions. I'm glad we got the upgrade instead of a new uk route. There's been some nice upgrades applied to parts of the route also. Plenty of passenger and freight services have brought the route to life, it was always one of my favourites on tsc but seemed meaningless in tsw, you really have given it meaning again. And is now top of the list. Just a couple of small things... service platforms at Gillingham carriage sidings are still missing and the road railbridge at sittingbourne station still feels like it's nowhere near where it should be.

Cajon pass. Truly spectacular, looking like the best American route to come to tsw so far. I've not had the chance to drive it much yet but from what I've seen of it can only be described as stunning.

    Kassel Wurzburg currently untested.

Dynamic weather really adds more realism to the experience, driving a train in ever changing weather patterns really makes the train driving experience feel more real than ever. But improvements needed. I was driving a class 66 in a snow storm and didn't need to use the wipers as all the windows remained totally clear! On top of this in the same snow storm I couldn't help but notice the orange glow from the sun on the horizon, snow in tunnels and some strange kind of grain effect on the snow covered ground every time the wipers moved on the class 465. The effect from the snow being whipped up by the trains seems a bit odd. One passed me doing 15mph but the snow made it seem like it was going 100mph. Also it flashes on and off and just instantly dissappears once the train has passed. There's no transition.

Lighting has totally transformed the experience, in the daytime its noticeable but at night it really makes a difference, stations feel more real, the lighting is perfect. Not only do the lights bring the station to life but also the stations surroundings too, I passed a rural station and you could see the light on the trees surrounding it, nice. The train lights actually illuminate the tracks and objects infront of you now, like headlights should. Its much better being able to see what's ahead than looking into total darkness.
Again there's some areas for improvement. Towns and villages still seem to dark, I passed a lot of places with street lamps that weren't lit at all. There's buildings in places that should emit a lot of light yet there's none at all. I must say strood looks good though.

Sparks/arcs I've got nothing good to say about these. Driving the 465 I noticed they light up the cab, at first I thought the speedometer light was playing up until I realised it was the arcing of the 3rd rail! Yet it don't seem to reflect off the surroundings at all. And it's not really the bright blue flash you would expect either. In real life at night the arc of a 3rd rail can often be mistaken as lightning in the night sky, whereas in tsw I don't quite no what to make of it.

Don't get me wrong because I appreciate all the hard work the teams put into tsw3 but the truth is I know you can do better.
