Can anyone help with GE overlays? I've got the lidar in, but not sure where the GE overlay is. I thought it was the simplygon button, but nothing happens when pressed - I guess I need something else to activate.

I couldn’t get my overlay to show either, even after finding where to put the API key.

Probably a simple step we are overlooking but until someone in the know tells us…

Well you've got further than me Vern, I couldn't even find where to put the key in.

I’ll have a look shortly, think it’s in part of the expanded menu in the main viewport. This really is the most confusing and frustrating editor ever!

    Here you go...

    apikey.jpg

Click on the coloured gizmo I've circled then put your API key where I've redacted mine.

Cheers Vern, when I watched a video I thought the chap was clicking the Simplygon icon - didn't notice that one underneath, silly me again!

Make sure to check the enabled box to make the Google Map overlay active.

Is there a key to push? it shows me nothing. I have the API key and select static maps on the key.

What exactly do you mean by "select static maps"? Why didn't the the way mentioned above work for you?

This is what i am try first.
In the options of the API key on Google cloud, it have to be enabled static Maps to work. I copy and paste the key and Enable in editor the Maps overlay, but it does not load anything.

Sometimes you either need to wait a bit or in case it doesn't want load at all go the landmark dropdown menu next to the Google Maps one in the Editor (which you initiated with your KML file) and jump to a different city then jump back to your Initial start point city.

That works for me when the Google maps layer won't show up. Premise is that you did all steps mentioned before in this thread.

It doesn't work. If you absolutely have to provide a credit card, I can stop trying with the Google overlay and use Route Guides and Open Railway as a replacement. Mastercard Basic (Prepaid) is not accepted by Google.
