Not sure where to post this but thought here may be the best bet....

Is the CSX GP40-2 add-on going to be made available in TSW2 via preserved collection as this seems to be the only thing of mine that I can't see any mention of on the roadmap.

    Cheers.

The CSX GP40-2 is a loco DLC for NEC and NEC is not coming to TSW 2.

Note: Northeast Corridor New York, Amtrak SW1000R and CSX GP40-2 are not part of the Preserved Collection.

The GP40-2 will not be part of the preserved collection.

Incorrect: The GP40-2 was DLC for the original CSX:HH. The GP40-2 was able to be driven on NEC if you owned it..maybe this is why you thought it was DLC for NEC ?

Funnily enough, now looking at it deeper, it should've been included in the preserved collection as it was originally suited for Sand Patch Grade, as NEC was only really additional layer. There has to be a reason deeper (model? simugraph) that prevents it from being ported over.

GP40-2 was the first standalone locomotive DLC to be added to the TSW franchise, 29 November 2017.
NEC was introduced on 21 March 2018.

DTG said in a stream that it was an NEC DLC. I know, I know, it originally came out for Sandpatch Grade on PC with an NEC layer, but it was actually an NEC DLC on console. I suspect that there are further difficulties in bringing over the GP40-2 that are tied to the lack of NEC for that reason. Also because the new Sandpatch Grade is very different from the old one, it would require further work to make the GP40-2 function again.

I heard that in a stream too and assumed that it is correct.
But apparently I am wrong with this statement, thanks for your clarification.

One part of that DLC has made it to TSW2 through the Oakville Sub and Peninsula corridor preserved collection. Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t the centerbeam car introduced with the GP40 DLC?

Yes, the centerbeam car was introduced with the GP40-2 originally.

One disappointment with the loss of this DLC is the Steel Coil Car, maybe it can be added in a future DLC to add some variety to manifest trains on SPG (Dash 8 maybe?)

I miss that car too. There is a wild assortment of schemes these coil cars often sport in the real world. It’d be real nice to have it for the editor!

I hope the lost GP40-2 cars will come with the Dash 8, and may be some more!

Yeah, the coil car would be great to have in the livery designer! CSX alone has quite the assortment of colors on their coil cars.

I agree. Both the GP40-2 and the coil wagons could be perfectly part of the CSX content for Sand Patch. As written before they were part of the former Sand Patch route when released. There´s no logical reason to leave them out. GP40 could also be part of the Oakville and Peninsula DLCs, as the CN and UP liveries also exist in real life.

    Cheers
