According to The Guardian, TSW6 is going to get the Great British Railway livery

Does that mean London Bridge is coming to TSW6? Hope so.

Encouraging sign that licensing should become much easier for UK routes in the years to come if the DfT has worked with DTG on the promotion of the new brand.

While I quite like the new livery, I was hoping we would continue with regional identities, LNER, GWR etc. it's going to be very boring when every train looks the same.

Whoever wrote the article clearly didn't do their research. London Bridge doesn't yet exist in TSW.

Even if it did, I doubt the livery would have been showcased on a train thats never been anywhere near it.

It's part of a display at the actual London Bridge station along with a Hornby set with the livery.

Anyone know how we actually spawn in the livery? Wondering if it is unfortunately limited to the 802 rather than the 801.

Guessing that the DTG PR machine will be in full swing tomorrow about this :D

I think eldomtom2 is probably correct that the article means that there will be some kind of display at London Bridge - the article isn't particularly clearly worded about this

I was pointing out that it mentioned Train Sim World 6, falsely claiming that London Bridge exists in the game.

"The brand will be on display at London Bridge on the 9th December, with a special one-day exhibit, plus a special Hornby model train and a demo of the GBR-branded train in Train Sim World 6."
At no point does it say that London Bridge is in TSW.

Anyway another image. From the BBC News article.

Two things I’m wondering is what interior we get for the 802 in gbr, and when it’s released. I guess only time may tell!

I was thinking the same, don’t want to end up with the German situation where every train livery is rapidly getting boring traffic red! But it’s all brand new so I can’t imagine that being the case, it’s been like that in Germany for over 25 years.

"in the Train Sim World 6 game at London Bridge" to me read as London Bridge is in TSW (this exact sentence is in the OP of this very thread).

Nothing wrong with getting the wrong idea from imo a poorly written article.

It’s pretty clear really. Perhaps it was yourself who didn’t read the article. It states

“The first actual trains to be repainted could arrive from next spring, but fans of pretend ones can see the brand on a Hornby model and a virtual version in the Train Sim World 6 game at London Bridge, and on displays at other leading stations around the country.”

They are going around the country to mainline stations showing the artwork and the Hornby model for the public to see the livery. Don’t really see how they could make any clearer to understand.

Found this image in a BBC article. I couldn’t help but notice how much the landscape, track layout/ OHLE and the supposed 801 resembles that of TSW. Looks like/ most likely the ECML with the 801 used to showcase the new GBR livery

TSW provides an easy way to interact with the train, and since the DfT already has a good working relationship with DTG, they might as well use it rather than make their own sim just to show off the new livery

It does look like it. Well hopefully the fee from the DfT to DTG can be put to use sorting out the core!

And trivia, Heidi Alexander is my local MP (though I didn’t vote for her…).

Yes, but seeing as it has already been made by DTG (or DfT) hopefully it can be made player accessible.

Must be some serious train lovers in DfT to use TSW out of all technologies available lol

Does that mean that when the new liveries start happening for real that they will be blurry with jagged edges?

    Sorry.... couldn't resist......;)

That is an absolutely rancid livery.
(Thank god ScotRail are staying separate)

    Intercity Swallow was right there.

I feel it would have been much nicer had the red and white stripes ran vertical after the first coach. The colours themselves are great.

It doesn’t really matter… we are all wrong from time to time. It’s comments like this that don’t do anything other than keep an argument going. Just let it go now.

It's a hideous livery, you'd think GB News had designed it.

Live from the scene at London Bridge!
edit: DTG staff was here before 2pm, but at the time of my arrival they are already away. It's just weird that they don't stay there for the biggest batch of people using the station.

I think quite a few would have liked that, given it would look very similar to the old Network South East livery (a livery that has made a recent comeback on a GBRF Class 73 and a South Eastern 465).

In regards to DTG releasing the livery, I guess they could upload it to Creators Club themselves to download who wish to do so.

It’s the people who don’t accept they are wrong that’s the problem.
Back to topic in hand I actually like the livery looks pretty sleek and look forward to seeing them rolling out.

To be honest I don't think BR Blue/Yellow or Intercity would work well on the majority of trains today. It's visually pleasing, but it does feel very 70s/80s. Stagecoach absolutely banged it with their liveries, as previously seen on the 444/450/455/442/458/222/HST. It's a timeless classic IMO.

As a non-UK person I did feel like one of the cool things about the multiple TOCs is that there is a variety of liveries, some good and some bad. Going down to one will be less visually interesting, even if it is a good one (which this one seems to have mixed opinions).

It is cool that DTG/TSW got a chance to showcase the livery and the game in a pretty high profile way. Hopefully they have enough ram to not blur the entire thing. From the photos posted it looks more like it is a video playing, not the game itself running locally.

It’s one of this liveries you expect to see as a ‘special’, certainly not a fleet livery.

Personally I’d be surprised if this is still the livery when it gets anywhere near nationwide rollout.

This looks like it is the 12 to 16 category winner in the Blue Peter design a livery competition. When do they reveal the real one?
