Disclaimer: I have only been once to this route and my knowledge is'nt massive on this so correct me If I make mistakes, Thanks. This route will stretch from Leicester North to Loughborough Central will be a heritage railway. This route will have various cafes and places to discover like the miniature railway at one of the stations. This route has a max speed of 25mph and will include Duchess of Sutherland which will layer on the MML as it makes its yearly appearance. Also this route will have a BR class 101 reskined into the following pictures. This route is the favourite of many and is quite well know across the train community and would bring a bunch of new players to the game as this route is popular. Also DTG worked with this very heritage railway to get the recordings for the 8F and jubilee class so they have a healthy relationship with this heritage railway group and would most likely happily give permission for DTG to use this route in TSW. Thanks for reading let me know your thoughts and opinions in the comments!
Its not part of the MML Its a heritage route the MML is a completely seperate from this route but if they make this and it is good It would be great!
its 16 miles. Yes its short but its a considerable lenghth for a heritage railway. It takes around 1/2 an hour to do one trip (lough to N Leic)
YES! I would LOVE to see this route come to the game.. I would, however, like to see 70013 come with it and maybe some of the other GCR based locomotives and rolling stock that we don't currently have in-game.
I would actually like to see a late 50's era Great Central, maybe Leicester to Woodford to include the famous Catesby Tunnel and of course the 9F hauled "Windcutter" freights.
Good suggestion but I think that it would be better to have some of their regular home fleet locos included like the Standard 5 or the 9f. Ideally though it would be in the 50s but it would be nice to see the heritage line nonetheless.
You will be running at 25mph but knowing dovetail it would be something they would like as it is short
This was where Top Gear Series 17 Turn cars into trains episode happened and for the Class 40/45 home to this route it smashed onto the Scum Class Caravan. Bring this on to the game complete with the GCR Missing link if finished.
Sorry to quote you again mate but I had a quick look on the GCR's website and it says that they can have test trains of up to 75mph for the diesels and 60mph for steam. Didn't find anything about regular runs though.
I saw that episode. My question is this was there a Class 09 that that to back out of the way for Jeremy's Jaguar XJS Train the TGV 12 or not? Game play wise it's trains can sub on NTP WCML Liverpool Lime St Crewe TVL GWML London Paddington to Reading 1970s & Peak forest route if applicable to do so Videos
Ah now you say (write) that it does seem to have rung a bell in my head so that could well be what I was thinking of.
Yes I have seen it many times and it still makes me chuckle! I thought that it was a blue class 10 (10119) but I haven't noticed the episode on Dave for a while now so it's not particularly fresh in my memory.
I know but they show the old ones (such as this one) on the dave channel and that is where I tend to watch them though as I said haven't seen this episode on there for a while.
It is in there and for the locomotive that is going Southbound was that a class 25 or 31 locomotive on the first clip where Jeremy is going northbound towards Loughborough on his Jaguar XJS TGV 12 Train. If it's the class 31 achievement will be shared with the original Tees Valley Line version.
I believe there was also a shot of a 47 at one point as well, though like I say that could be my icky memory.
