This route is 106 miles long and would go from London Marylebone to Nottingham Victoria. It would feature LNER B1 LNER V2 Class 108 Standard 4MT tank Standard 5MT IVATT 2MT 2-6-0
YES! 1000x yes! However, I would prefer the GCR as preserved between Loughbrough and Leciester North (on the site of the old Belgrave and Birstall station)
1) BR Standard Class 7 2) BR Standard Class 5 3) BR Standard Class 2 4) GWR Modifed Hall The 8F and Jubilee could layer in aswell as some diesels from WSR, NTP and TVL as some of the rolling stock from these routes (8F, Class 37, Class 20, Class 08 etc) are preserved on the GCR
Would love to see this. Not sure why a short preserved section would be more appealing than it being set as a mainline in the days of steam.
well the GCR is my favourite heritage plus I really want to see more heritage railways for TSW.. but tbh, I would also love to see the GCML in game
I love heritage railways in real life but my personal experiences of them in train sims has been mediocre. Although with TSW's timetable mode you could recreate some busy gala days. However the one preserved route TSW has had so far, the WSR, had a rather uninteresting timetable mode in my opinion.
I can only agree with you.. DTG could have chosen any preserved railway in the UK and they went with the longest when they could have done done a more famous one like the Bluebell Railway or the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. The timetable isn't fun at all, just going to and from Bishops Lydeard all day. No double headers or TnTs as what is pretty default on gala weekends and so I get pretty bored by the time I get to Blue Anchor (coming from Minehead) / Crowcrome Heathfield (coming from Bishops Lydeard).
Not to mention the lack of steam. And for some reason in timetable mode you just a randomly numbered class 47 not North Star, not sure if that is still the case. The layers were a nice idea but seeing dirty blue diesels on a heritage railway isn't really realistic.
true about the layers from NTP and TVL.. I did have one occosian when I got to drive North Star. That was during the Class 47 tutorial when I first got WSR for the original TSW back in 2019. I haven't seen her since
The GC main line in the late 1950's before BR started to run it down would be great. Marylebone to Nottingham probably too far, but Marylebone to Rugby Central or Woodford Halse to Annesley (to do a full Windcutter run) could be feasible. Whichever section was chosen, Woodford Halse and the iconic Catesby Tunnel are a must.
