I reinstalled the GEML to allow me to install AP's Wherry Line V2.0 and I've got no colour light signals on the GEML. Is there an additional asset pack I need to have installed, or does AP's pack do something odd to the signals?
Did you get the right version of Wherry Lines 2.0? Did you read the full download instructions? This is part of them from APs website. "On 28th March 2022, this route was upgraded to version 2.0. This upgrade is only available via our website and not via Steam. For those who purchased this route via our website before 28th March 2022, or via Steam at any time, and would like to upgrade to version 2.0, please click here."
I have the Wherry Lines V2.0 upgrade, which I believe I have installed correctly. The route appears to run correctly and the V2.0 assets are visible. My problem is with the GEML. I can, as a test, uninstall everything and just re-install it, but for obvious reasons I'd prefer not to do that. I was wondering if I've installed everything necessary for GEML. Some Steam routes require multiple Steam DLCs to work correctly.
You did not answer Trev's question - Did you get the Wherry lines from Steam or direct from AP? GEML is not one of them and only requires the RSC\GEML folder and all its assets. If you do not have Signals on the route then the installation of the AP Signal pack has corrupted the route. [1] Try reinstalling the AP Signal pack If that does not work look in the [2] Look in the RSC\GEML folder and see if there is something that does not belong [3] Look in the Content/Routes/00000038-0000-0000-0000-000000002013 folder and see if there is something that does not belong.
749006, Thanks for the suggestions. There seems to be a problem with the Wherry V2.0 upgrade, or at least the way I installed it. I'm working through what the problem might be, but deleting everything (!) and just re-installing GEML gives me back the signals on GEML!
You don't have to delete everything - Just remove anything not in .ap files in the Route and Content for the GEML as the route then uses the ap file.
You haven't answered my question. Do you have the right version of the Wherry Lines? There is a Steam version and an AP version. How do you expect people to help you when you don't answer their questions? I shall say again, there are 2 versions, and if you have the wrong one, things will probably not work.
trevkiwi I have both the Steam and AP Wherry Lines V1.0 (it's a long story). However, according to AP's product page, it shouldn't make any difference to the V2.0 upgrade. "Customers who qualify for this upgrade either purchased the route from our website before 28th March 2022, or from Steam at any time." What happened was that I installed the Steam version of Wherry Lines (V1.0), which was running correctly. I then updated it to V2.0 using the AP upgrade. While all the new assets displayed (e.g. Gulliver at Lowestoft and their new trees), many existing general assets disappeared to be replaced by milk bottles. I then installed GEML, Settle and Isle of Wight and the missing general assets returned; however, colour light signals on GEML disappeared, as did - so I later found out - the colour light signals on Wherry. Following 749006's answer to my original question, that GEML is self-contained, I concluded that something about the order of installation, or the compatibility of the Wherry update was the problem. Last night I uninstalled the whole lot, installed GEML, Settle and Isle of Wight, then AP's Wherry 1.0, and finally AP's Wherry 2.0 upgrade. Everything seems to be working now and the signals are back on GEML! Thank you for your help.
