The Great Eastern mainline is a line that is pretty busy and would do great with the new rush hour passengers The route I am suggesting would see the route starting at London Liverpool Street and terminating at 2 main destinations and 1 additional end that I will talk about later The services would be from Liverpool street to Southend Victoria which is around 34 miles And Southminster Which is 41 miles All services would be operated by abellio Greater anglia And there would be up to 8-9 trains one way (16-18 both ways) between Liverpool Street and Shenfield where some services would go up to Ipswich and Norwich and so on This route would be set around 2020 But not following the 2020 timetable kinda like the new Brighton mainline Trains would include the class 321 and 322 which are basically the same train and can be attached to each other even though there are about 5 or 6 liverys the current 321s carry (including renult,NXEA,FCC/GN, greater anglia with red doors, great anglia with grey doors and ex northern purple livery)we would only see the greater anglia white with red doors and renult livery as it would be too much for DTG as it may take up time Class 322 in Northern purple And the brand new Class 720s Class 321 Class 322 Class 720 Potential add ons TFL rail tfl rail services would run from Liverpool street to Shenfield which was the other destination taking about an hour as it is a stopping service trains would include the class 315 and 345 The class 315 being apart of the PEP family which includes the already included 314 and soon to come 313 and class 507 and 508 which are not in game The class 345 being apart of the aventra family along with the 720 710 701 and 730 All being made by bombardier who made the electrostars Now with the route set and are trains ready I'm going to just discuss what these trains could open up for later routes The class 321 would open up the potential for a a backdated wets coast mainline with the 321s operating with London midland for a period in time An East coast mainline route either set with FCC or GN And the 321/9 and 322 both operated with northern The 321/322 could be used as a 320 for any scotrail route that would need them The class 720 could be used for a 710 with some adjustments A 315 would probably be used from a 314 But a 315 could open for a reskin for LO or greater anglia
Any Eastern Region OHL would be good. I think it more likely that DTG would do a TSW2 version of the existing TS Great Eastern Main Line with just 720s and 745s. I'd love 315s, 321s, 322s and 345s in game but you're only going to get two traction types maximum with any new route. I also think the C2C line would be better suited to TSW2, bit of coast, towns, countryside, HS1 running by, differing service patterns and ways of getting from City to Sea. Lots of freight options, 387s already in game so just a 357 and S stock would be needed to make it realistic.
I suspect the most logical option for a modern-day GEML would be a 720 and 745 or 345 with the other as DLC. Personally, though, I would much prefer an earlier version with the 321 + 90 or 315 with the other as DLC. Plus, it wouldn't require too many changes to get the 90 equipped for freight. Though I will say, 321s are a messy class, Greater Anglia is, even now, operating 321s barely changed from their FCC, NXEA and Northern days, on top of which you have the GA liveried units and the Renatus units. I suspect this is why the TS version of the GEML uses the 360 instead. The most obvious solution to me would be to just have the 30 Renatus units for simplicity's sake and to be fair, it won't be long until that is the case on the GEML anyway.
Excellent idea and If the class 745 were to be added here then the Route code is GBE-R7. If broken down G is UK B Electric AC representing these trains Class 321 322 & 720 25kv 50hz Overhead contact system E Electro Diesel Class 745 7 2011 onwards.
You're getting your 745 and 755's confused. 745's are all electric intercity. 755's are bi mode for other routes off the wires from Ipswich to Lowesoft, Felixstowe Peterborough etc.
Thank you for telling me about this because on the outside they look exactly identical that's how I got mixed up between the two.
Yep the other distinguishing feature is that the 755's come in 3 car (755/3) and 4 car (755/4) formations with the 745/0 (Intercity) and 745/1 (Stanstead Express) in 12 car formations.
Well said and I'm wondering if both Class 755 Electro Diesel propulsion code E Class 745 code B 25kv 50hz AC electric multiple unit operate on the route
755's are currently being tested between Colchester and London Liverpool Street running in multiple and electric.
I'm not sure why GEML came with the Desiros, lovely units though, I miss them but the 720s are a big step up. The 321 fleet was pretty uniform at the time GEML was released as all of Ilford's fleet had been there since BR days, they were slowly losing their First Great Eastern colours to that dreadful NXEA livery. We later became the retirement home for ex-Silverlink, ex-GN and ex-Northern units. Personally, I think any GEML route would be 720s and 745s as they will be the only units running on GA's Essex mainlines to Clacton and Ipswich. 755/3s make cameos on the Sudbury and (less frequently) the Harwich branches of course
