I am currently working on a modern timetable for GWE! It will feature Heathrow Express, GWR, and Elizabeth Line Services. Due to a lack of available trains, Heathrow Express will be ran by 385s and the Elizabeth Line is TBD, but it will eventually use the Class 710 when it comes out. Heathrow Express and Elizabeth Line trains for Heathrow will terminate at Hayes & Harlington. GWR will have a mix of 801s, HSTs, 166s, and 387s!
Yes they are, but this will be set in 2019 to make it more realistic, as I obviously have to terminate all Elizabeth Line trains at Paddington.
that's a shame... you could set it later so we can have the rolling stock more accurate. eg. 2022 or 2021
Can't really argue with your logic... Albeit come to think of it aren't you related with the Modern western mainlines TSC thing or am I imagining things?
yeah i made that. dont really play ts classic anymore though. it just crashes too much and with the editor and tsw getting more unique routes now i am finding less reasons to go back
that's a shame - it was a good route and I was looking forward to the next version. No worries though.
IIRC it did get to bristol but with the AP 800/1/2 there is diminished reason for electrification any further then bristol. Previously on the OG electrification project if you wanted to go from paddington to bristol you would have to spawn a diesel variant from the start even though the first half of the journey is under wires. Now you can use the AP one and switch over at the end
trainsimgaming1001 As I'm also making a scenario pack for GWE, I saw some issues at Reading with HST stop markers missing on Platform 9 and Platform 11 towards London and also PIS screens for Platform 7, 3 and 2 being wrong and none for Platform 1. I've logged these as tickets in the hope it will go to the dev team to rectify. If you want to raise tickets or want to reference them with support: #66269 TSW4: GWE Reading - Missing HST Stop Car Signs #66270 TSW4: GWE Reading - Incorrect PIS Platform Assignment & Incorrect Platform Number Signs Let's see if they get rectified. In short with the HST stop markers, on Platform 9 the trains will stop at the 4-6 marker and on Platform 11, the rear of the HST will stop at the marker at the other end of the platform, intended for Westbound services. Thought it be worth you knowing. Probably should make DTG Matt aware as well.
UPDATE: Following DTGs decision to remaster GWE with a new timetable, this project is put on hold. UPDATE 2: I am an idiot. It is not a new route. Its the same route still, so this project is revived.
Actually, while I was in London around Easter 2022, due to construction works, the Elizabeth line terminated largely at Paddington.
Progress on the timetable is going well following the revival, and it is now at a point where I can share the first set of screenshots of the new timetable in action! Here is the first screenshot, taken at Acton Main Line. A Class 710 (in place of Class 345) is pulling in, with a service to Hayes & Harlington. In this 2nd screenshot, we see a Class 142 at... Slough? Yes, this timetable also has a few railtour services. This one in particular is a Pacer railtour, which runs at 3pm from Paddington to Slough, and then back again. This third screenshot shows a HST at London Paddington, having arrived from Oxford. Yes, there are HSTs on this timetable, just for a bit of fun, as much of the rolling stock from the original timetable would go completely unused without it. Also, in the background, is a Class 801. This is 1 of 3 mystery trains in the timetable. 3 special services run in the early morning, each featuring a unique train. The other 2 images will be published later. Can you guess what train this is? Q&A: Q: What DLCs do I need to install this mod? A: As of version 1, you will require Great Western Express, Brighton Main Line, Midland Main Line (for a service that will hopefully be moved to a layer in version 2), ECML (everyone should have this, as it comes standard with TSW4), and the Goblin Line. There are also DLCs that will add services, but are not required. These will be revealed at a later date. Q: Is this mod on consoles? A: No, and it never will be, even if there eventually is a way to bring mods to consoles, owing to limitations describing further down. Q: How are electric trains handled? A: Contrary to what DTG have said in the past, the OHLE up until Hayes is actually fully functional. For services beyond Hayes, if they are being driven by the AI, this actually ignores the electrification requirements. For player driven services, it is a bit more complicated. You will have to use a mod called TSW God Mode to force electrification across the whole route. Unfortunately, this seems to be a limitation of the route itself, rather then my timetable or the public editor. Thats it for today. More updates will follow as the timetable continues to develop.
