I live near to the Great Western Express, and I remember noticing some inaccurate parts to the route. I have travelled on the Great Western Mainline all of my life, including travelling on the Heathrow Express 332s and Heathrow Connect 360's as well as the 166's which used to be 6-9 cars. Here are some issues that I remember before 2016 that are still current: Footbridge at Hayes and Harlington is Incorrect No stairs on Platform 4 at hayes for passengers to leave and enter No stairs on platform 1 at Hayes and Harlington leading to the main road. No set of stairs on Platform 4 at Ealing Broadway which is causing passengers to cross the footbridge The footbridges on the line don't connect with Platform 1, only 3 and 4 No ticket Office at Hayes and Harlington which was located in front of platform 5 which was easy to access as it was in front of you when you were going down to platform 4. Missing PIS on the HST The PIS on the 166 are located in the wrong location At Slough, the branch of to Windsor and Eton Central goes of as a double track, but its meant to be a single track. Same applies with the Henley-on-Thames branch from Twyford as well as the Greenford Branch No AI services going on the Marlow Branch from Maidenhead West Ealing is missing Platform 5 for the Greenford Branch
A variety of these are incorrect as you have pointed out. I have also raised these issues multiple times over the years as I too am local to the line (150yds away). However, there is one definite inaccuracy, West Ealing platform 5 is a very recent addition that I do not believe was there in 2015. dtg_jan if the team requires any detailed knowledge/help to correct inaccuracies, I'd be happy to help share my knowledge.
It was DTG’s first route. They were still learning to build routes back then, of course there was *lots* of inaccuracies. If a remaster or remake was ever to come to fruition, then everything you described would be added. That however will never be, since DTG don’t have the GWR licence anymore. Can they re-acquire it? That remains to be seen. Watch that space careful and with a pinch of salt.
