The expansion DLC would include the following trains: The class 345, The class 387/1, The class 387/1a and The class 800 to give people more trains to choose from.
It would also expand the Great Western Mainline down to Swindon and Electrify it. It would also include the branch down to Heathrow airport.

It would require a complete rebuild

Ignoring the blatantly obvious fact of Heathrow express is likely never coming due to liscensing.

Do we really need a. Electrified version of GWE just slightly extened? Why not have a completely new Western route modernized - My shouts would be a cornwall route or Riveria line or maybe the SDML. I just don't think we need a new version of GWE, albeit it worked for IOW so who knows.

I feel like this route deserves a rework as it was released in the first version of Train Sim World which was almost half a decade ago.

I agree that a rebuild is necessary, especially due to its age and the fact that all of the branches on the existing section were left out. Furthermore, it never received any accurate dlc locomotives when there are a few to choose from. If SEHS got this treatment even though it is much younger, why not look at a reworked version of this and possibly also ECW.

Sadly Matt has confirmed it won’t be reworked for a while

A team should be allocated to rework and tweak some of the older routes such as GWE, NTP, ECW and TVL which are all original TSW routes. They could all do with a bit of love. If it was feasible to do it with SEHS, then why not some of the other routes. It is very biased that SEHS got so much when others got little to none at all. Please DTG, bring these routes into parity with newer content.

If this route does ever get modernised, extending it is an absolute must. The most logical option would be to continue it to at least as far out as Swindon, but it would be wrong to not include the Cherwell Valley Line to Oxford, plus there's a lot of other small branches along the line that would add more variety too. If DTG were feeling extra adventurous, perhaps the groundwork could even be laid for the East West Railway connection between Oxford and Bicester :)

As much as i like the idea of a GWML mainline expansion, i think some other GWR lines could get attention. Golden Valley Line (Swindon-Cheltenham), South Wales Mainline (Bristol Parkway/Temple Meads - Cardiff Central) or Cotswold Line would be nicer to have, as they would show some locations that arent in the game
