Introduction Hello my suggestion today is for 2 routes on the Great Western Mainline the first one being Paignton to Bristol Temple Meads. The second one is Paignton to Exmouth. Rolling Stock These are trains that are already in train sim world apart from one which I will give more detail on - GWRclass 150 but could do with the gwr livery updated headlights that are lds and GWR interior -GWR Class 166 -GWR Class 802 -GWR Class 43 HST Class 220 voyager The class 220 voyager would be a great addition to the game and a perfect fit for the Paignton to Bristol route this train is a hybrid but has no electric power mode as this train is permanently built in 2000 and 2001 by bombardier. The train has a maximum speed of 125 miles per hour and is operated by cross country which is introducing a new train operator to the game. Information about the routes Paignton to Bristol Temple Meads -Paignton -Torquay -Newton Abbot - Teignmouth -Dawlish -Exeter St Davids -Tiverton Parkway -Taunton Bristol Temple Meads Route time: 1 hour 40 miniutes Route length:105 miles Operated by cross country and GWR The train you will use: class 220 voyager class 802 or class 43 HST Paignton to Exmouth -Paignton -Torquay -Torre -Newton Abbot -Teignmouth -Dawlish -Dawlish Warren -Starcross -Exeter St Davids -Exeter Central -Digby & Sowton -Newcourt -Topsham -Lympstone Village -Exmouth Route time: 1 hour 32 minutes Route length is 40 miles Operated by GWR trains you will use: class 150 or 166 AI For both routes GWR class 150 and 166 Class 802 and Class 43 HST cross country class 220 voyager Conclusion I think this would be a great addition to the game as it is introducing us to two new routes to the game and introduces a new operator cross country and new locomotive in the class 220 voyager. Thanks for reading and I hope dovetail have a look at this interesting suggestion for a new dlc
Would like to see a voyager. 166 could be a layer. 150 would require some adaptations. Doesn't seem implausible. The only thing is the route length for the first one (105 miles) which may be too much based on DTG current route lengths. Can I also just check, for Paignton to Exmouth you've said 14 miles 1 hour 32. Is this definitely right? Would be a very very slow route if so. Would either route be able to employ a GWR 800 or GWR HST layer?
Yes you could put GWR HST and 800 in there I will edit my post and put those suggestions in there thanks so much your comment
The Exmouth route is a commuter route as to why the Route is so slow I put 14 miles as that's what it said on trainline and you could only use hst or 802 on the Temple meads route because there are some stations with short platforms etc
I've checked Real Time Trains and agree Exmouth wouldn't be for HST and 800. Interesting that both 800 and 802 could be utilised on these routes. Time - again, checked RTT and the time seems correct Distance - I think this may have been shown on Trainline as displacement. Between Exmouth and Paignton the distance is 63km or ~40miles by rail - https://www.brouter.de/brouter-web/...81,50.621731;-3.414881,50.621731&profile=rail
Yeah thanks for that appreciate it I will edit that now the Route length and hope dovetail look at this one as I know they go through the suggestions on here I think I put a lot of detail to get dovetails interest
The Exmouth branch is my local line. So I'd be over the moon if this ever came to TSW4. I'd love to see Exeter St Davids to Paignton or Plymouth via the Dawlish sea wall set in the 1980s when the Class 50 and HSTs were prominent around these times. But otherwise your idea for a modern day route would be great too
Yeah thanks for the comment I prefer the modern stuff but sounds cool though I do like hst hope dovetail approve
