Train Sim World 3 Greater Manchester Network: Stockport-stalybridge Via Reddish & Man/mcv, Picc - Marple, Chinley

    With a length of roughly 55 miles, this Network route would encompass many of the Diesel lines around Manchester, as well as featuring some electric ones along with 3 train depots (Newton Heath, Ardwick & Longsight)

    Lines included: Manchester Piccadilly - Rose Hill Marple, Chinley via Stockport & Hazel Grove, Manchester Victoria via Ordsall Chord, Stalybridge. Romiley - Chinley. Stockport - Stalybridge, Manchester Victoria - Newton Heath TMD, Stalybridge. Deansgate - Trafford Park FLT.

    Proposed Rolling Stock
    • Class 156 in Northern Trains livery[​IMG]
    These units were built in the mid 1980s as part of the 'Sprinter' family, with 65 of the 114 built currently in service with Northern. On this route, these units would be used on all of the passenger driven Northern local services to Stockport, Rose Hill Marple, New Mills Central, Salford Central - Stalybridge as well as the one a day Stalybridge-Stockport and return (this service only runs on a Saturday, meaning that this route would run to the Saturday WTT). They have a top speed of 75mph and are based primarily at Newton Heath TMD but do usually venture onto Longsight Depot for overnight stabling.
    • Class 185 in TransPennine Express livery[​IMG]
    These units form the backbone of TransPennine operations, running services from Manchester Piccadilly & Victoria to places such as Manchester Airport (AI), Saltburn (heads to Man Vic from Man Picc), Scarborough, Huddersfield, Leeds (via Guide Bridge) & Cleethorpes (run to Stockport). Formed of 3 coaches, the units have a top speed of 100mph and spend a lot of time on Ardwick TMD.

    These units may not be the only ones that could be included with this route as here is a list of already existing locos in TSW that may feature in either a reskin or layering in from another route

    • Class 150/2 in Northern Trains (reskin) livery
    These units do not do much work for Northern around the Manchester area, so their inclusion with the route would be a bit pointless really.
    • Class 158 in East Midlands Trains (layer) Transport for Wales & Northern Trains (reskin) livery
    These units are used by TfW on their hourly service from South Wales to Manchester via Crewe (departing at xx00 from Stockport and xx30 from Piccadilly, with arrival at the end of their service at xx13 for Piccadilly and xx39 at Stockport) as well as services from along the North Wales Coast line to Manchester Airport which would feature as AI (xx44 from Manchester Airport and xx55 to Manchester Airport, with +4/-4 mins on the time above for Manchester Oxford Road). The units also feature prominently on the local services to Stalybridge from Manchester Vic. The EMT units would be drivable from Manchester Oxford Road to Stockport, with AI carrying them for the rest of their journey on the route map. There are a few services that stop at Chinley & Hazel Grove though, which extends driving time of these services by around 20 minutes and an additonal 11 miles.
    • Class 323 in Northern Trains livery (layer)
    This unit would be available for those who own the Glossop Line addon, with all the services it operates on that route featuring here as well as new services to Stockport with destinations such as Stoke-On-Trent, Crewe & Alderley Edge
    • Class 66 in DBC, EWS (layer) GBRf & Freightliner (reskin) liveries
    These locos would feature on freight services from the Freightliner terminal at Trafford Park, which is primarily operated by Freightliner and its 66s although there are a few DB services. Freight trains that head via the Manchester Airport line will have around 15 mins of driving on them, with the ones via Stockport being around 25-30 mins depending on the service. There is of course other freight traffic which heads between Guide Bridge and Stockport on the mostly freight only line between the 2 locations.
    • Class 802 in TransPennine Express livery (reskin)
    These units run on the Glasgow - Manchester Airport services as well as services between Liverpool Lime St & Newcastle.

    Excellent Idea overall and from what I can see you have part of Huddersfield Line the NTP modernized

    not anymore sadly :(
    They only do Liverpool to Blackpool/Wigan these days however they do Wilmslow to Liverpool via Manchester airport and Piccadily on sundays :)

    Awesome idea if we get someone who’s capable of making a sprinter without making such a balls up of it

    DTG can only do one line at a time and Stockport-Stalybridge is pointless as it gets very few services and past Piccadilly is pointless unless you were suggesting Manchester - Liverpool
