How is this route? I see on Steam that it is 50-50 good/bad reviews. Thought about buying it now when it is on sale but not sure because of the reviews.
I am the same l only need this and Just Trains Italian route for RSC and am waiting for them both in sales. Need Green River to be 40% off because of the reviews as l won’t play on it that much. Will get the Just Trains route in its first sale from JT as l will use my reward points as well. l bought Arizona Devide in the sale at 40% off and hardly play it.
The biggest question is, do you like to drive big trains at high (freight) speeds through a prairie like area. Its a typical milepost simulations route and thats a good thing. The single track section of the route looks really good. The double track area is a more sparse as it has few vegetation. This could be true to reality but i like the single track part a lot more. I wish some of the industrial spurs would have been included. Some parts of the route are scenic but some parts are just a sparse prairie/dessert like area. Some parts of the double track section are of a lower quality then in some of the other MP routes. But this could be do to the landscape in reality. The stock is actually fine for a steam release. Its the normall DTG stock and a updated sd40-2. Its not seachlight stuff, but its far better then the gp30 or 35 that came with the recent HIS stuff. Its fine for casual driving. Would i buy it again. Yes. Disclaimer. I use american stock and routes only if i want to drive something casual.
The route itself is only okay by default; I’d recommend any of Mileposts more recent offerings above GRK, it is a pretty distinct step down from those. I’ve made an enhancement that fixes almost all the route issues. https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/m...utes/i7083-union-pacific-green-river-kemmerer As far as the stock goes it sucks, the SD40-2 is a kitbashed SD40 and has bad geometry, the dash 8 is nothing new, as far as rolling stock goes they all suck, the only one worth saving is the wellset, but so far nothing for it. That said, UP has the most high quality locos available, from the JR SD40-2 to the SPS SD70ACe and several others, we have great stuff to run here.
