PlayStation Green/yellow Signals (german Routes)

My understanding of Green/Yellow main signals on German Routes in TSW 2020, is that you must abide by a 40kph speed limit (presumably until the next double green signal) unless otherwise told. However, this isn’t reflected in the HUD most of the time, which usually remains at the line speed. Can the HUD be updated, especially in TSW 2, so that it correctly shows the reduced line speed for Green/Yellow signals?

The HUD always shows the line speed irrespective of the vmax of the train or the signalled speed, adverse aspects etc etc

I know. That’s why I’m asking them to modify the HUD to reflect the restricted speed.

So to clarify you want the HUD to be changed so that in all instances it tells you the maximum speed of whatever you are driving at that time, in the conditions you're driving in...?
Kind of removes a lot of the responsibility of the driver, doesn't it?
It would also mean a complete overhaul of the way the HUD works as I imagine it works similar to in TSx where the HUD speed limit is set to the track itself, rather than any other factor

That’s right. The HUD shows the line speed and it’s up to you, the driver, to comply with the other rules. The information is in the signals and once you know what to do you can drive at the right speed every time.

There is also the technical aspect of having the HUD update to the speed restrictions imposed by signals. They differ depending on what train you are driving. That would mean every signal would need every possible speed reduction that could possibly be shown programmed in, and have that correct for every train that could possibly pass it, and choosing the correct speed to show in the HUD would get very complicated.

Imagine having all that programmed in and working properly every single time for every single train at every single signal showing every single possible aspect on every single route. It just isn’t going to happen. That’s why it’s left up to the virtual driver to know what speed to do.

Actually, it's not that difficult IF the vmax setting of the line could be set dynamically in game, but it would throw up some "quirks"

Imagine a situation where a headcode 6xxx freight train is running along a 75mph stretch of line and the light ahead is green
The line setting would be 75, but the train would change ALL above 60 to be 60, so the HUD would show 60

The next light is double yellow. This SHOULD change the speed down, probably to about 40, but it could be less depending on the next distance signal

The next light is single yellow, so again this could change the speed down.
And then red, so the HUD would have to show a speed of 0

It would mean a rewrite of the HUD and the upcoming speed changes, but not technically that difficult IF that vmax is dynamic in game

I know that the HUD does show the 40kph speed restriction with certain signals on the German routes. One that specifically comes to mind is the signal after the penultimate station before Hagen on RRO (the S-Bahn line). The signal is usually at Green/Yellow and displays a 4. It’s just that as it stands now, there is no penalty for exceeding the restricted speed limit and unless you’ve researched signals, you’d never know that you have to react differently.
