I have the Microsoft Train Sim back from 2001 and haven't really played it. I not to Railroad savvy. Ben reading other forums and they were talking DLCs and how all of them seem to differ as to the better Sim.I dunt know which Sim to purchase. I dunt need anything with a steep learning process such as the flight sims. Thanx

Hello and welcome to the forums, both sims offer a different a type of experience yo enjoy. There are step learning curves as there are tutorials in both to get you used to driving the different locos.

Train Simulator Classic you are the train there are camera views to view from, but you are not able to walk the environment of the sim. There is lots of routes to choose from as well as there are loads of workshop content to download and enjoy.

For TSW4 so much more than just being the train, you can get out and walk around and do so much more. You can interact with the locos and frieght cars. The content is getting there, and with Creators Club you can subscribe to other's creations.

Personally, I enjoy both but when I want some realism, I will turn to TSW4. But it really comes down to you and what you want play.

    I hope this has helped.

You can use the "8" camera to explore the world too - without invisible walls as in TSW which only let you explore a small corridor next to the track, so in TSC the world is actually more open to you.
