I have been playing through journey chapter on Gwe. On my last few journeys i noticed aws needing acknowledging for seemingly no reason. Next signal is green, but it kicks in anyway. My understanding is that aws alerts you to yellow and red signals. Am i missing something?

There is a permanent AWS warning on Great Western Express at one point during the route. It's always in the same point so it's not random, but I can't recall where exactly it is. It's been like that since launch, though. It probably exists on the actual route, but I don't know the purpose of it.

What do you mean as permanent? As in acknowledging wont work?

I mean permanent as in it always will make you acknowledge it at that point regardless of signal aspects or speed changes. It is always active. Acknowledging it will work, like other AWS warnings.

Thats strange, never had that happen. Just seems to trigger randomly thus far. Doesn't happen on all services though. Only freight.

Not sure if this applies to you but did you by any chance notice any speed limit changes/speed boards although I’m on Xbox the aws also triggers to let you know of upcoming speed limit changes and this does occur a few times in gwr London route

I logged this a long time ago but nothing was ever fixed. I told them exactly where and when the issue occurred but they wanted videos which I did not have time to do.

It is related to a speed reduction warning when approaching a diverging section before a loop. I noticed it on the down fast but there are others I think. It is most definitely a (very annoying) bug as the AWS should not activate unless the points are set for the slower route as it is a lower speed. Instead it activates all the time, even if continuing straight on and there is no speed change.

I suggest you log the issue and hopefully this time there will be more effort made to fix it.

I know where you are on about, just after Southall West Yard going towards Reading, an AWS ramp is placed for diverging trains for Heathrow, which isn't in game but if your next signal is green, the next ramp will act accordingly if that's what this is about, this seriously needs fixed DTG, c'mon ;)

No, that's whats puzzling me. Aws will just randomly trigger.

As mentioned previously, it’s for a diverging junction with a lower speed. It should be suppressed if the main route is set but in game, as you’ve discovered, they’re sadly not.
