In this suggestion, I am suggesting that Great Western Express deserves the SEHS treatment in TSW3. Currently ingame, the route runs from Paddington to Reading. Why don't we add the Thames Valley branches such as the Greenford, Windsor, Marlow and Henley branches with the Basingstoke branch too. The Heathrow branch should be included too if licencing is approved. The Mainline will be extended from Reading to Swindon and Banbury via Oxford. The new stations on the Mainline includes Tilehurst Pangbourne Goring & Streatley Cholsey Didcot Parkway Swindon Line to Banbury Appleford Culham Radley Oxford Tackley Heyford Kings Sutton Banbury Basingstoke branch Reading West Mortimer Bramley Basingstoke Thames Valley branches Drayton Green (Greenford Branch) Castle Bar Park (Greenford Branch) South Greenford (Greenford Branch Greenford (Greenford Branch) Windsor & Eton Central (Windsor Branch) Furze Platt (Marlow Branch) Cookham (Marlow Branch) Bourne End (Marlow Branch) Marlow (Marlow Branch) Wargrave (Henley Branch) Shiplake (Henley Branch) Henley-on-Thames (Henley Branch) Rolling Stock New Rolling Stock: Class 800/802 GWR IET This will be the main workhorse on Intercity GWR services from London to Oxford and Swindon. Class 345 TfL Rail This will be used on local stopping services between Paddington and Reading. Reused Rolling Stock Class 387 GWR The class 387 will be used on London to Didcot commuter services and sub on to a few IET services between London and Swindon. Class 165/166 The class 165/166 will be used on the branch line + Banbury services and an early morning / late night service from Greenford into Paddington. Scenery changes. The existing part of the route will have a major overhaul with track and station upgrades including a realistic layout for Ealing Broadway with the Acton dive under also featured with the modern station buildings and Acton Mainline, Ealing Broadway, West Ealing, Southall, Hayes & Harlington, West Drayton, Iver, Langley and Taplow with the updated Old Oak Common depot. Also the Heritage Center at Southall will be set up for Heritage layers explained later. Layers: Freight won't be included as standard but will be layered. The base Freight layer requires southeastern highspeed for the JNA wagons and class 66. Extra Freight services are added if you own the class 31 for cement services and KWG to use the intermodal wagons and Habblins. Other layers include a railtour using the Class 47 + mark 1 top and tails from Swindon to Paddington and then to Banbury in the morning with a return journey in the evening in the opposite direction. (Requires WSR) LUL layers will be present around Ealing Broadway and Heathrow if it's included using the 1972 stock from the Bakerloo with the 1938 stock on the section between Westbourne Park and Paddington on a TfL Railtour. East of Old Oak Common on the WLL has hourly Southern AI crossing which requires BML. It also allows the GX 387 to sub for the GWR 387 to reference when GX loaned their 387s to GWR. West Somerset Railway also adds static stock at the Southall Heritage Center with Mark 1s, the class 47, 52 and 33 with ECS runs between Southall and Acton Yard. Potential loco dlc. Class 221 XC for services between Banbury and Basingstoke via Reading. What do you think of this suggestion?
Great suggestion. GWE was definitely set at precisely the wrong time period as it currently is. However, like many similar suggestions, the freight branches from Southall to Brentford Waste Terminal and West Drayton to Thorney Mill and Colnbrook have not been mentioned which will include refuse, stone and oil trains.
Because Arriva won't give them licenses for their UK stuff (since they removed the Arriva Trains Wales license from TSC)
Excellent idea and here's your problem German Intermodal Sggmrss are too big for GWML Extended and so are the Habbins too big to fit the UK loading gauge. Therefore it has to be GWML 2015 HKA Hoppers and FKA intermodal freight car. Shimms TTU UK loading gauge size IHA Covered Steel Coils BYA. Took this from WonterRail's BCC suggestion
I'm thinking of adding those freight branch lines mentioned above and also as for the UK Gauge Intermodal Wagons, they will be available as part of a timetable expansion pack where I will bring the HST and DB Class 66 with their wagons as a timetable dlc similar to the Diesel Legends. Since the timetable dlc is based on the Original GWE timetable, owners of the GWE will get that dlc for free so that you don't have to have both versions installed which could take up excess space on your storage device.
As much as id love a new GWE, id like to see a new route involving GWR intercity trains, like Oxford (or potentially even Didcot) - Hereford with IETs,165s and, if they are added as BCC DLC, Class 170/172
