Expansion Gwe Extension To Swindon, Plus Original Hst

    I think I agree with a lot of people's suggestions of extending the Great Western Express DLC to go to Swindon - plus I would love to see an original style HST on that line with the Paxman Valenta engine (and original paintscheme and interior). This was the first ever HST service to run specifically from London to Bristol on that line.

    dont be optimistic - most likely extent to oxford
    btw I want class 254 too
    with custom formation function I can run railtour on every UK DLC

    If the hst was included, it would be nice to have sliding doors as they are more modern

    Just fix the HST sounds so louder in the cab plus run with the doors open too, would be a start.

    However there is pretty much a standing request into DTG to do something with GWE, the most frequent being run through to Oxford and add the Thames Valley branches (except Heathrow). That would give us something up there with the likes of Dresden to Riesa or LIRR 2.0 for the UK.

    I am one of, if not the biggest advocate of a reworked GWE with TV branch lines. As the first TSW UK route, it is so deserving of improvement and can take so much of the newer features which would really make this good route truly awesome. The original/current GWE was a reasonable effort for the first time out but has now slipped way too far behind nearly everything else since. The only issue that I can see is the GWR licensing issues but this can be overcome with either debranded stock or pre GWR era liveries but the latter would require some changes to the route to reflect years prior to 2015.i am surprised that GWR are no longer licensed as First Group are always keen to advertise the brand.
