Gwe Missing. Help Please. [solved]

    Had an update for GWE this morning, which I installed.
    I’ve gone to use GWE and it’s now not showing in my Routes and the Class 43 and 166 are missing from my Trains?
    I’ve checked Manage Game and it says Game Installed.
    I’ve checked In Microsoft Store and it says Owned but when I click on it I get a screen that says App not installed.
    I’ve tried to install the App but it keeps saying “Check back in a little bit. We’re having trouble getting your stuff right now”.
    It’s been like this all morning, any suggestions anybody please or has anybody else had this problem?

    I have GWE appearing on Series S following the patch along with the correct numbering.
    Have you tried reinstalling GWE maybe?
    Uninstall from the game manager before trying to download it again?

    Either way I hope you figure it out :)

    Hi, I’ve uninstalled GWE but when I’ve gone to reinstall it says i no longer own it and I need to purchase it for £29.99
    Any help much appreciated as I’m not very technically minded, I’ve never uninstalled anything before!

    Just a thought, did you own that dlc on an older version of train sim?

    Im wondering if you owned it on tsw2020 etc, if so, it might need to be downloaded via that rather than tsw3.

    I did own TSW2 I think it came with GWE I’m not sure. I will have a look now and see. Thank you

    I own it on TSW2 (purchase on 11th June 21 for £24.99) and it works fine. Gone back to TSW3 to reinstall it and it say I don’t own it and it’s £29.99

    Just checked this myself. In having the EXACT SAME ISSUE, checked the update (Xbox One), didn't see the hst or 166 or the route in timetable or livery designer, uninstalled and tried to reinstall, nothing. Says I have to purchase it and don't own it, originally purchased on tsw2020 I think. I reckon a few have experienced this.

    We're investigating internally but don't believe anything should have changed.

    I've found this thread for someone who was missing content after an update, and some troubleshooting tips you might want to try in the meantime (if you could let us know if it's in your cache, that would be great).     Could anyone experiencing the same issue please let us know what platform you're using, ie Xbox One, Series X or S? And ideally raise a support ticket here Support : Dovetail Support

    One strange thing is the GWE legends dlc is still downloaded i wonder why it wasn't affected as well?

    That’s how I realised GWE was missing, I tried to do a scenario that required Legends which I own but when I checked it said I needed GWE to run Legends. The rest, as they say, is history lol
    I hope this gets sorted soon, I’m missing GWE already! :)

    I hate to say this but didn't anyone test this first?This all could have been avoided.This has been in the works for awhile so there should have been some testing time for this.Now DTG has to scramble to figure the issues out again.

    Exact same issue here too. I’ve owned GWE since it’s release now it’s requiring me to purchase it again but says Legends of GW is still owned? Really confused. Xbox Series X

    Why is yours saying £29.99 I wonder. My Xbox store is showing GWE as £24.99/£22.49 with gamepass

    It’s working fine for me on Series X.

    I bought and own the latest version of GWE that is currently on the store.

    sounds like the people having issues are all owners of the original release for TSW1 (or TSW2) and that something has changed with their license so Microsoft believes they no longer own the original version and therefor are not being allowed access to the new TSW3 compatible version.

    On series S I only have the tsw3 version of GWE also. Maybe its an issue with the older copies or something?

    hey folks. Just an update our end. We're investigating - current line of thinking is something has changed with entitlements for older versions of GWE, so we've reached out to Microsoft. Thanks for being patient.

    GWE isn't showing up for me either on Series S. Not tried uninstalling as judging by this thread it causes more issues than it solves.

    I’m just wondering, worst case scenario, if it is a license issue and I do need to repurchase GWE (new version);
    a) will I lose all my progress on TSW3 that I have gained using GWE but still keep TSW2 progress ?
    b) could this mean that Microsoft, in the future could do the same with other TSW2 DLC’s ?

    Like I say, it’s a worst case scenario but I would be interested in Xbox users (or DTG’s) thoughts on this?

    thanks for you patience so far. We are in talks with Microsoft they seem to have located the issue and are working on a fix right now, sadly we don't have an ETA yet.
    As soon as we have more concrete information we'll let you know.

    Not working for me either. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling, still doesn't appear in the menu.

    Just in case Microsoft isn't or can't or takes to long,to deal with this can the update be reversed or rolledback so to possibly allow GWE to return from the land of the lost?

    I’ve had a reply from Dovetail support to say if I provide proof of purchase they will supply me a key to gain access to GWE and the matter will be resolved. I’ve sent my receipt via e-mail. Will update when I hear more. :)

    edit: I’ve now had a key :):)

    edit: GWE installed, all back to normal. Thank you DTG, very pleased with the support and customer service. Off to drive some trains now!

    If my memory serves me right, this happened with the move to TSW2. I sent a photograph of the TSW disc and cover as proof of purchase. If you don’t have the disc though I’m not sure. An email receipt maybe?

    As well as an email receipt you can send in a screenshot of the purchase from your Microsoft Account. You can access that on PC or XBox. On XBox I found it and sent in a photo of the screen as it wouldn’t let me take a screenshot.

    Just gone through this ticket process, luckily still had the Microsoft receipt email and dtg got me a key within a couple of hours. All back to normal! Cheers for the quick help guys, much appreciated

    So if we can't provide proof positive we own or owned GWE DLC we might end up with nothing?
    Let set the story straight here DTG wants to hang this all on Microsoft doorstep but this problem only happened after there update (Which likely wasn't fully tested for this possibility).So not only are we players non employee dlc testers,we have to prove we own dlc even after it was lost thru no fault of are own.

    Note:In reality there's technically two potential loses here 1st the missing GWE DLC and the now the not missing but equally usless Diesel Legends DLC.
