Xbox Series S Gwe Remaster 802 Diesel Power Change Problem

Tried the 5Z16 Royal Oak CS to Reading. Set off fine after swapping to electric mode and stopped at Hayes & Harlington to swap back to diesel.

Reverser Neutral
Press Engine Start until hear engines - fine
Press Diesel
Pantograph Down
Reverser Forward
Apply power - nothing happens

Help please, is it a bug in the 802?

Also, text on the cab instruments gets the frequently highlighted blurring problem off and on during the run.

 

I’ve been getting this on steam too, been happening since the 802 first came out

 

You need to go to the rearmost cab to fire up the diesel engine if it is not working.

Has been bugged since release.

 

Seems to work fine if you change to Diesel Mode before leaving the carriage sidings. Just hold Diesel until you hear the engines, lower the pantograph and off you go. Full run to Reading now completed on Xbox Series S.

 

I discovered that the pantograph needs to be up and pulling power for the diesel engine to fully start. So you need to make sure that you fire it up before you reach the end of the power cables.
I power up the engine before starting the run. That way when the overheads end, the engine is already running.
If you spawn in a yard without overhead cables, it works.
Of course I doubt this bug will ever be fixed?

 

Thanks and good advice, I also managed to complete the run by switching to Diesel at the start. So, the message on the screen with the big orange engine symbol saying "power change needed" probably means start the Diesel before setting off!
