Rolling Stock: DT5 Route Length: ~21 km (25 stations) Gameplay: Rapid transit Scenery: Urban scenery of Hamburg Licenses: Hamburger Hochbahn AG Time Period: Same as Hamburg – Lübeck Similar Add-ons: Bakerloo Line (metro line) Hamburg – Lübeck (goes into Hamburg) Why this route: The Hamburg U-Bahn is a rapid transit system with a total length of about 106 km. It is unique among U-Bahn's for the fact that most of it is above ground. The U3 line is a historic ring line which would provide scenic views of the Hamburg city centre, including crossing over the Landungsbrücken. About 75% of it being above ground which would make development easier and reduce light baking, while still providing a metro system that could be the German equivalent to the Bakerloo Line. It would offer frequent stops with trains every few minutes. It uses a 750V DC third rail system, which would be a first for German content in TSW. It briefly features in Hamburg – Lübeck, seen near Berliner Tor. The line is fairly short at about 21 km but features 25 stations. Ideally another line would also be included, but dense urban scenery and the number of stations may make this impractical. Other line options: U1: ~56 km from Norderstedt Mitte – Ohlstedt / Großhansdorf. This is the longest line with a suburban feel and a branch at the end. U2: ~24 km from Niendorf Nord – Mümmelmannsberg. Primarily underground, serving high-density residential areas. U4: ~13 km from Elbbrücken – Billstedt. Shares track with the U2 but branches off to HafenCity and Elbbrücken. Cab ride video
