Hello! Welcome back to another suggestion! Today I'll be suggesting the Harrogate lines for TSW3. This is a different Leeds to York to the one I've previously suggested which goes via Cross gates-This Leeds to York is a bit slower and is more of a commuter service but much more scenic with lots of beautiful Viaducts and scenery. Arthington viaduct Bramhope tunnel (3418m) Knaresborough Viaduct The route is 39 miles long (+2 miles for neville hill depot) and has a top speed of 65mph which is achieved between Knaresborough and Poppleton. (Although there is a very short cheeky 125mph since the first section is spent on the ecml (but not for long though). A normal service from Leeds to York takes just over an hour. Also in each train that is included they should be a working guard panel cos why not. potential new feature? On the Harrogate line, all the services have a guard who opens and closes the door, so it would be nice if when you stop at a station an AI (as the guard) opens the door automatically and when the passenger loading is done, it closes the door and you'll get 2 rings of the guard buzzer in your cab. Scenarios Headingley cricket rush hour- A cricket match is being played at Headingley stadium so extra services have been put in place between Leeds and Horsforth to transport the fans to the stadium. Knaresborough conundrum- Engineering work is going on at Knaresborough viaduct so your York to Leeds service has been reduced to York to Knaresborough and drive back. ''Just a bit of rain''- Drive from Harrogate to Leeds in a thunder storm (watch the signals) but due to the weather take the train back to neville hill depot. Northern Express- A new trial express service has been put in place. Drive from Leeds to York stopping at only Horsforth, Harrogate, Knaresborough and Poppleton. The nightshift- Set up a train at neville hill depot ready for a late night Leeds to Harrogate service.
Train On this route the train will be the class 170/4, these are ex-scotrail units and have a top speed of 100mph. The 150/2 and 158/9 operates on this route but doesn't have that many services. Maybe as layers from wcl with a Northern livery. Services Leeds to York- 2tph ish York to Leeds- 2tph ish Leeds to Harrogate- 22:39 and 23:39 Harrogate to Leeds- 22:09 and 23:09 There are some Neville hill depot to Leeds services too. Layers class 150- This does a few Leeds to Harrogate and Leeds to Knaresborough services If the ecml ever comes out the Class 800 will do Leeds to Harrogate/Harrogate to Leeds services (1tp2h each). Also with a few neville hill depot services.
Very good suggestion mate and would be a gooden to see in game as it is like you say very scenic. The turbostars would also be lovely to see considering their wide reach across the country.
Excellent idea but why not set this 1982 that way you can simply run trains for the Eurovision event held at Harrowgate. which was actually won West Germany that year that way there is a scenario that requires you to run extra trains to Harrogate due to Eurovision
Yes I know but it says line also uses sprinters my comment relates to what person said about sprinters being used on line and fyi if you don’t know about the total balls up of 150/2 west Cornwall local then you would understand about relationships between DTG/there partners tsw and appalling sprinter history
I have WCL and it was a route done by Rivet Games not DTG so if DTG do it it should be fine. If the route just came with the 170s it would be fine though as the sprinters have much more limited use on the line.
