PC Has Steam Started Throttling Its Download Speeds?

    The last couple of downloads I've only been getting 30-odd Mb/sec, with a peak of 60.

    Sometimes some server farm is more loaded than others. If I notice a download is going too slow for what it should be I just go to Settings -> Downloads and change the server region.

    I wish, if Steam sees I have one gig of bandwidth it will gobble every last drop of it up.

    You can also configure a download speed limit in Steam. It is possible to choose the allowed download times of the day too.
