I like to play scenarios where you can load and unload the MRG coal wagons and I've noticed that the HAA default ones are really bad when it comes to the sound. So I have purchased the AP versions, and although the new sounds are lovely, I now can't seem to get them to load or unload. I've read the manual but nowhere does it say anything about this. Can anyone confirm that they do work in the game for me please?
If I remember correctly the AP wagons have either a loaded or unloaded version. The reason for this is that the loading or unloading of a wagon in TS is essentially cosmetic and doesn't change wagon weight. AP went with seperate loaded wagons and unloaded wagons with correct weight, but no loading or unloading animations. It's not ideal but it is what it is. You can relatively easily apply AP sounds to other wagons, like the default HAA or the ones I often use from the West Coast Main Line Over Shap route. If you wanted to do that let me know and I will refresh my memory since it's been a few years of so since I've do it.
By far the best HAA's for sound are what come with the Woodhead Electric Railway in Blue route (WoodheadBR). They are loud and have a creaky and very clanky sound. Much better than AP's HAA's sound imo Edit: I haven't tried them for loading/unloading.
