the materials brighten the textures in some weird way, but the original image files are fine. any ideas?

Is this supposed to be the same color as the stripe? If so go to "View Mode > Buffer Visualisation > Overview" and post a screenshot of that. Or just see where the two things differ and make it match.
readjusted some stuff in materials and toggled sRGB, it looks fine now with sRGB on and checked all materials, I hope it stays that way
