I have contacted someone at Dovetail with this question on the day of the reveal but unfortunately I haven’t received a response. On the reveal it was stated that the gameplay pack would not work on 8th generation consoles. Buying from the Microsoft store you can now install products to your Xbox or PC. I have an Xbox one and would like to know if this gameplay pack can still be installed through Microsoft into their PC version of TSW5, when it is released tomorrow? Will it work ok or not?
Rest assured, tomorrow's gameplay packs will be compatible with any PC version of TSW 5. However, it won't be compatible with Xbox One and PS4.
Thank you Chris, I have an Xbox one, are you saying if l buy tomorrow's gameplay pack through the Microsoft store and install it into their PC version, it will work, even though l cannot play it on my Xbox One?
Hi Chris. I bought it and installed into the PC version of Xbox One. The scenarios appear in the appropriate routes. Tried to play a scenario on the San Bernardino Line and twice it has crashed on start up. Will keep persevering.
nwp1 Does your PC meet the minimum requirements of the game? The error suggests that your graphics card (or lack of one) is failing you. Everything is working it’s just Santa Clause is coming to town, that crashes. Not overly bothered or concerned about that.
Hi Chris. I turned the graphics settings down a notch and it works fine now. What does confuse me, is on my Xbox one installation listings, all three are showing as they can be installed. Why is this, when they are clearly stated as only suitable for the Xbox Series X/S? Please would you explain! Thank you.
nwp1 There is nothing on a system level that will prevent players from purchasing or installing the gameplay packs. However, if you do this on an 8th gen console it won't appear in-game because it is not supported.
