Started on TSW4. want to buy TSW2 + dlc West Somerset Railway for TSW2. will I be able to play the same DLC on tsw4 without having to buy the compatible version again? Also, playing TSW2 will affect negatively my current account with all my progress on TSW4? Also, If I buy, for example, the special edition for TSW4, will the compatible TSW2 dlcs included on the special edition, play on the original TSW2 game? Thanks!
If it is a TSW2 bundle you are after the get some routes at a lower cost then after purchase and installation of TSW2 the TSW4 versions will be free to download as well. There won’t actually be any need to play them in TSW2 though. Just keep things simple and play all the content you buy in TSW4. I don’t think buying a TSW4 version of a DLC allows you to download any older versions unless the rule on that has changed.
AFAIK it does if the TSW4 version is an unmodified TSW2/3 version of the route. But if there's a remastered version like the extended SEHS one does not grant the other.
this answered my question. Thanks! But still I am going to buy TSW2 because since it's the oldest game on the franchise that is still listed on the store, it should run smoother on my xbox one S because when I play TSW4, it feels like i'm playing on 20 fps on my xbox one s. since tsw2, tsw3 and tsw4 are all from the same recipe I won't care too much really even if the game isn't getting any more updates.
