I am having serious issues with frame rate drops but only when I am in the cab of the loco. All I can get is about 15 to 25 fps in the cab but if I am on an exterior camera I manage around my maximum 165 fps. The games run great until I return to the cab view.
I thought it was my GPU (NVidea RTX 2060 8GB) so I purchased an RTX 3070TI 8GB but still the same issue.
I have an Acer Predator Orion 5000 i7 64GB Ram. My games are on an SSD.
Any advice would be appreciated. TIA

first thing i'd do is switch the monitor to 60Hz for running TSW2, there is no need for more than 60 FPS in a train driving game,

Doing that on my gaming laptop drops my gfx card power consumption from 150 watts to 80 - 100 watts (dropping from 165 Hz refresh rate to 60Hz) and the gfx cars is no longer running maxed out all the time, so has some overhead left for when things get busy.

set max FPS to 60 in tsw2 menu, this can help with stutters... even with a g-sync monitor, as it'll stop the fps rising and falling all the time.

Does it run at low fps in every cab? as each route is different in how it handles the drawing of graphics, which is why it's so damn hard to get settings just right for TSW2... what works on one route will make another route run like LOVE,

Yes I've tried dropping the frame rate to 60 Hz in both but it is still the same in the cab. It is in every game and I have all the TSW2 routes. I just can't understand why this only occurs whilst in the cab. It is faultless on external cameras, no stuttering and very sharp. I must have tried every tweak possible and even went to the expense of buying a new graphics card because I thought it was that.

  4. Are you running full screen mode or Windowed?

    hi there
you could try to use some engine.ini from this thread i hope you get help from
    https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...-engine-ini-optimizations-for-ue-v4-26.50311/
im using the nvidia driver 472.84 which seems the best for unreal engine games so far.
if you know nvidia inspector turn off all gsync functions (helps a lot with stutters not only in tsw2 ) and set maximum pre-rendered frames to = 2 and Vertical sync = force on
in the nvidia control panel cap your fps even to = 60 fps

Full screen mode. What is the difference in these?

  7. Windowed mode usually causes fps drops but as you are in full screen it wouldn't be that.

I am suffering from this problem and tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything which strangely enough fixed the problem on GWE but unfortunately not on every route. Tried all of the above suggestions but making no difference. This was not happening before the latest update.

Today I found a driver update for my graphics card, depending upon route I am seeing between 20 & 30 FPS in cab with between 70 & 140 FPS out of cab. To see a jump of 110 FPS simply by pressing a button to move out of cab would suggest to me that there is a serious problem with how things are now set up since the last update.
