Hi guys, Just wondering I have a problem when I drive HST, I get a beeping noise every 2 minutes or so if I don't move the throttle, can this be turned off or what is it? Thanks
I think it's just the DSD vigilance check. Basically if you don't move any controls for a certain amount of time, it asks for an acknowledgement to make sure the driver is paying attention and for example hasn't passed out.
You can turn it off using the DSD switch on the right. It is a vigilance alarm that must be acknowledged by pressing Q. However, given that you haven't reported an emergency brake application, I am wondering if it is the DSD that you are referring to.
No braking involved, just pull out of the station and travel a certain distance and the beep beep starts, but if I keep moving the throttle I wouldn't get it and to stop it I move the throttle.
The emergency brakes are automatically applied if you do not cancel the alarm. How long after the beeping starts do you move the throttle? More than 3 seconds? As for disabling the DSD, the switch in the middle of the image will do it.
It is off by default. If warpshell uses AWS, then they may have subconsciously turned it on, but I'm still not sure that it's the DSD.
If you don't use safety systems, it is unlikely to be the DSD, unless you accidentally turned it on for one session. Has this happened in one sessions or has it happened across multiple sessions?
Ok, looked the dsd isolation switch was in the isolated position? Ok turned off the isolation, so now the train grinds to a halt, but you get beep either setting.
That is really interesting. I have just tried it with the isolation set to isolate and then normal, and only got the beeping when normal. It is most definitely the DSD, but I cannot recreate the noise without activating the DSD. Has this happened consistently in multiple sessions?
Yes, I have done the whole HST timetable for GWR and it beeped every time, so it has happened in several sessions.
