    The High Rhine Railway DLC
My idea for a new route would be the High Rhine Railway (Hochrheinbahn) route from Basel Bad Bf to Schaffhausen. Now before I get into details I have heard enough times that there is a certain limit for stations and route length otherwise it would be too much for some PCs to handle. So, if this idea will actually be chosen, it is up to you how long the route should go. The full one would just theoretically go to Schaffhausen.
Here is the full route map:
    - Basel Bad Bf
    - Grenzach
    - Whylen
    - Herten (Baden)
    - Rheinfelden (Baden)
    -
    Beuggen
    - Schwörstadt
    - Wehr-Brennet
    - Bad Säckingen
    - Murg (Baden)
    - Laufenburg (Baden)
    - Laufenburg (Baden) Ost
    - Albbruck
    - Dogern
    - Waldshut
    - Tiengen (Hochrhein)
    - Lauchingen West
    - Lauchingen
    - Grießen (Baden)
    - Erzingen (Baden)
    - Schaffhausen

Now the best map I could find for this route were the lastest planned construction measures which are displayed in the following attachment:

Edit: Nevermind, I found a a map of all the stations with services.

In addition to that, here are the following trains of which I know, operate on the route:
    - DB BR 641 (BWegt emblem with up to 3 units)
    - DB BR 612 (BWegt livery)
    - DB BR 245 (with Dostos)
    - DB BR 218 (with Dostos)
    - 765 DBpbzfa (Can both be powered by BR 245 or BR 218)
    - DB BR 644 (BWegt emblem)

The environment also adds a more calm experience than main routes.
A good amount of trains are already in the game, making creating this route a shorter and easier process than to create everything from scratch.
Basel Bad Bf also gives the possibility of having electrified AI traffic pass by with trains that are already in the game.
Most of the game's routes are fully electrified. This route is much more focused on diesel-operated trains, giving the player a change.
The sight will also give the player a fresh new experience and with how the route is built, buildings can be used to an advantage to block off view and save on resources. That way the map doesn't have to show so much detail all the time.

Again, this is only just a suggestion but it could be a fresh and different experience.
Information to the route is most likely to be on wikipedia:
