Who else would like to see the Highland Mainline from Perth to Inverness in the game. This route could use the Fife Circle line class 170 and upcoming 158s and then the HSTs from the GWML.

It would be a good idea as it would give people a route with stunning scenery and plenty of stations to stop at and with the ScotRail 170s in the game and the 158s soon to be it wouldn’t need a new train. Apart from the HSTs which would need a remodel and a new livery.

Might as well have it as they're on a Scottish kick currently.

Would give reason for another HST as well.

Its not really my thing having trains that can go fast running slow. Very limited AI it would get boring very quickly in my opinion.

Well the Highland main line is quite fast in some places and has some challenging gradients. However a route that would be much better served in BR Classic era with double or even triple headed Class 26’s hauling 18 coach overnight trains over the hills. The other issue is that Perth to Inverness is a tad on the long side for a TSW route. Running south from Inverness it would make little sense to stop at say Pitlochry, or going north from Perth at Aviemore. A better idea might be an Inverness hub including the Highland line to Aviemore but also the Far North around to Dingwall and maybe a section of the Aberdeen line.

I'd love a UK mountain route, not particularly high octane driving but it would be brilliant escapism plodding along one of the most beautiful landscapes in the country. So it gets my vote, especially if there's lots of Class 37 "Large Logo livery" action.
