Can someone please tell me how I highlight someones name (e.g. DTG Natster, DTG Protaganist) so that they are notified of a post requesting their attention? Thanks.

Start typing an @ symbol followed immediately with DTG without spaces. Will bring up a list and just choose one

    It's frowned upon though!

DTG don't like you doing this direct to them. They all read the forums anyway
If you want to tag or highlight someone else then you can, but they can also object

I would like to think they read everything but there isn’t really enough time in the day to do so. All replies to threads don’t always get read. Imagine how many posts happen over a weekend. Even some threads will get missed. Not purposefully but they will. You can tell this happens by the amount of swearing that gets through and needs reporting.

I wouldn’t tag someone unless you’ve posted something that has definitely been missed previously. A direct message might be better if it’s urgent and you need to speak to a specific member of staff. Tagging for no reason has got out of hand and that’s why we’ve been asked not to.

And people doing "DTG xxx" on Discord is the reason they don't bother with that anymore. Don't do it here.

They know how to do their jobs, program, use 3DMax, what a "feather" is, how a 26L brake works already...
If you want to tell them anything useful, report your issue in "Technical Reports".

Or rage spam in the relevant area of course..

I agree that you shouldn't tag staff members, but I also understand the frustration that might cause people to do it. The Technical Reports post it note states that "posting in this forum is likely to get a faster response than waiting for the support team". Well?

What sort of response is it you want? Do you want someone to answer every question, concern and issue? Not likely unless you want them to have severe mental issues by the end of the week.
Hopefully Someone listens to what Sam and Matt said on stream and they at least acknowledge that it's been read, but they have given multiple assurances that each post and response IS read, and I see from their reactions on stream and the roadmap streams that they do seem to

I can give you a number of examples that would suggest otherwise. The most recent would be the breaking of the dynamic brakes on EMD locos. A much older example is the missing radio and banking com on the C40-8W. I'm still waiting for acknowledgments for those problems. And both those issues have been reported by numerous people, not just me.

You mean the regen brakes on the 465? This was mentioned on a stream in the last week I believe and seems to only affect a certain section of players
Not sure on the american stuff as I wouldn't be paying attention anyway (don't do anything american so outside of my interest)

Sorry, I thought I was quite clear. If there's a problem with the 465, I hope it gets fixed soon. I was referring to the problem with EMD locos on Peninsula Corridor and SPG, which have yet to be acknowledged.

Ah right, more american stuff, so refer to second comment.

You are right and the C40-8W is the perfect example. It was a ‘I’ll bring that up with the team’ on the live stream but no mention of it since. It’s a loco DLC, so expect it never to get any attention. That’s a pattern I’ve seen and is supported by DTG’s assertion on the live streams that they fix issues that affect the most players first. The dynamic brakes on the EMD locos has only really been confirmed by the community this weekend so DTG haven’t had time to respond, so we’ll see what Monday brings, but I’ve posted numerous things that I have no idea if anyone’s seen it. There should be a big response to the dynamic brake issue because it’s huge and hopefully it’ll get the AC4400 dynamic brakes looked at as well, and hoping against all odds that the C40 gets fixed while they are at it.

Another pattern I’ve seen in the forum and I don’t know if it’s deliberate is new members that post an issue very often get a direct reply or acknowledgment from a CM but active ‘longer service’ members don’t. There usually has to be a lot of fuss created on a topic to get a reply on a big issue, but you very often see a new customer post that a trophy didn’t work for example and get an instant reply. It’s very odd seeing replies to minor issues.

A cynic might say that veteran members can be counted on to support the game whatever problems arise, whereas new players have to be pampered so they stick around. But, I'm not a cynic, so I would never say that out loud.

Or that newer routes have been on Adam's team's RADAR as they're the ones making more money right now. He has said on the roadmap streams that he needs to get to the US routes as they've been concentrating on europe too much

The project Adam's team is just finishing up is LIRR, one of the oldest routes, and next up is the even older Rapid Transit. There aren't any other US routes except Sand Patch, which was rebuilt for TSW2 so it hardly counts as "old," and P.C.
