It's almost a year, since Hauptstrecke München Augsburg was released. The consoles still only have 2 different trains, the BR 423 and the BR 403. Will the Layers be added when Rush Hour comes out? The reason for not being available were performance issues. So I guess it should work now, shouldn't it? Maybe the question was already answered, but I don't think so. It's already a long time without layers and I guess if it's not fixed with the new version, we will never get it.
Layers are basically timetable services in the game (both player and AI). For example, on PS4, HMA will only let you drive the BR 403 and the BR 423 and only those two types of train will appear as AI trains. On PC, if you have other German DLC, there are other types of locos and trains (freight trains, regional express, regional trains) which you can drive and which will also appear as AI trains. It is sad, wihtout the variety of trains and the hustle-and-bustle, HMA feels very empty.
So basically on PC there are more varieties of train to drive than PS4 and on the route there are more varieties of trains seen as AI? PS4 versions of whatever route are inferior to PC?
All DLC except HMA (Munich-Augsburg) is identical on console and PC. Unfortunately, the layers for HMA on consoles caused severe stuttering, very poor frame rates and game crashes so it was decided to deactivate the layers to keep performance at an acceptable level.
